Suzyn Waldman Cries On-Air Following Yankees Defeat

I understand that Fans get upset when "their" team loses, and sometime cry. But a broadcaster live on-air? I think that's unprecedented. Well that's exactly what Yankees radio announcer Suzyn Waldman did during the postgame show on WFAN last night. Here's the audio.

WCBS 880 Audio

“No I was okay actually until I went into the clubhouse and the coaches are sitting in Torre’s office and they are watching this. And the tears you hear in my voice are coming down the faces of the coaches in that coach's room.”- Suzyn Waldman
"Well Suzyn, in life all good things come to an end.”- John Sterling

God schadenfreude is so rich sometime(s). But in all seriousness there is NEVER an instance when a broadcaster should cry live on air. I understand her allegiance to the team and the emotions tied to working for them, but even John Sterling sounded shocked that she was tearing up.

You can also relive Suzyn's greatest moment ever when Roger Clemens came back earlier in the year if you'd like. I'm trying my hardest not to pile on here....trust me.

(P.S.- Thanks to the anonymous tipster for that clip.)

UPDATE: There was a good opinion in the comments that I wanted to share.....

I don't agree 100%. There are acceptable times for a broadcaster to cry on air, but never over wins or losses.
It would have been acceptable, to me at least, if a broadcaster had cried over Mike Coolbaugh that night or something along those lines. Not that you want to or that you'd be trying to. When the Memphis Grizzlies' pbp guy passed away on a road trip 2-3 years ago, his replacement couldn't keep it together in the postgame show when he talked about what had happened...and that was extremely moving, especially because the game was that night.- Anon
Point taken, and by me saying never that was in reference to wins and losses. Death and real life issues like that are the exception.

Update: Just wanted to mention in this space that I've deleted some of the hateful comments in the comments section, and I apologize if anyone was offended. You have to understand I'm only one person running this site (and have a separate full time job)...I can't immediately delete things as they come through.

Let's keep the name calling to minimum please. Thanks for your understanding.

  2. See, it's ok cuz it's a woman, and us men are supposed to allow the feminine hysterics like this to be smeared all over our male sports activities.

Because they are so great, doncha know.

    Pam Ward wouldn't cry.

  3. Anon- Point taken, but you are obviously talking about some dying.....compleeeeetely different, but I'm going to add your comment to the post.

  4. What a "C" this woman is!

    ReplyDelete
  5. ...as if I needed another reason to believe that Waldman is the worst announcer in sports.

    ReplyDelete
  6. so the pretentious spelling of she-broadcaster first names has spilled over from television to radio now?

    ReplyDelete
  7. wow after listening to the clemens one i cant even bare to listen to this one, such an unpleasant voice. sounds like her daily diet consists of a carton of lucky strikes and a fifth of beam.

and thank god for adblock, her picture is going right in with pammy

  8. Joe Buck cried on the air after Randy Moss wiped his ass with Lambeau. That was OK. I would love to see Joe Buck cry on air.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Damn is this awesome to listen to or what!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ther is NO crying in baseball.

  11. Setting back feminism 30 years is just another treat for all us Suzyn Waldman fans. Can't get enough of women finally getting an opportunity to do something outside the Craig Sager-esque role of sideline reporting and reducing a postgame segment to the ending of 'The Golden Girls.'

    ReplyDelete
  12. The Roger Clemens clip is one of my favorite things EVER. She really capture the excitement of the Yankees dugout.

"Posada is smiling. Andy Pettite knew."

    ReplyDelete
  13. gmoney- Buck did, indeed, tear up on air twice in 2002 after the deaths of his father and Darryl Kile. I know this because, as a Cardinals fan, I watch/listen to all of their games.

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Setting back feminism 30 years"

My thoughts exactly. It's really quite pathetic, and truly, awful announcing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I, too, would disagree that sometimes there are moments, good or bad, when an emotional broadcast overcomes the moment.

To say that a broadcaster shouldn't get "emotional" means that they can't get excited when a team wins, or feel down or somber when they lose.

One "emotional" moment could be when umpire John McSherry collapsed during the Reds season opener in Cincinnati, 1996. Who could not be emotional watching a tragedy unfold?

When LA Dodgers commentator Don Drysdale passed away in 1993, the broadcast crew waited until after the game to tell Vin Scully, as it was certainly an emotional moment and to carry on during the broadcast would have been near impossible.

While "death and real-life issues are the exception", what defines the rule? When you spend your career covering persons you come to know on a more personable level, you cannot help sometimes but be overcome by the "real life" of not seeing them again.

I don't think she was blubbering throughout the whole post-game. Just briefly overwhelmed. Nothing wrong with that IMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok, I can MAYBE see her crying if they won the damned WS overcoming the untimely death of Steinbrenner.

But they got knocked out of a playoff series.

    It's ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Ok, I can MAYBE see her crying if they won the damned WS overcoming the untimely death of Steinbrenner. But they got knocked out of a playoff series. It's ridiculous."

She was crying not over the playoff loss, but over changes coming to the team next year, people, players leaving, friends gone, etc.

That said, she has a terrific face for radio.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That she was crying over that is exactly the reason it's ridiculous.

Had a pertinent story that was detrimental to all her "friends" on the coaching staff come up, would she have been able to report it fairly? At all? Would we be able to understand her through the sobbing?

I understand sportscasting is not straight-up hard journalism, but how about a bit of perspective and professionalism.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Totally unprofessional. Any radio station GM would fire this person, but hey, we're talking NYC and deluded Yankees fans.

    ReplyDelete
  20. God, I CAN'T STAND those two!

They're such Yankee marks! The raw, unabashed arrogance and condescension in their voices while calling Yankee games makes me sick to my stomach!

It makes me so happy to hear this mark slobbering and blubbering like a typical idiot NYY fan after their little overpaid snowflakes get unceremoniously dumped from the playoffs.

Here's to ya, you stupid Yankee marks:

    Ballgame over!
    Season over!
    Yankees lose!
    ThUH-uh-UH-uh-UH-uh-UH-uh-UH-uh
    YANKEES LOSE!

    FU NY!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Did you see the ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Worst. Announcer. Ever.

    ReplyDelete
  23. the really funny part is that she was crying OVER TOP OF Torre crying in the press conference (or so say Mike/Dog).

    ReplyDelete
  24. That was nothing. She was emotional, but professional. No balling or stopping the flow. Just a wavering voice.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This sent feminism back thirty years?

No, it sent Yankees broadcasting back thirty years.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Any Yankees fan crying, man or woman, makes me very happy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will be the first one to laugh at Suzyn Waldman and John Sterling - but I really didn't think this was so bad. Her voice was wavering, and it wasn't because the Yankees had lost, but because they all suspect that this was Torre's last game. I don't know how long she's been doing these games, but she's been there for several years, and I'm sure it'll be strange for them to have a different manager there next year.

But then again - I cry at everything too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Agreed with death and things along that sort, crying is ok there.

Every freakin year the Yankees make the playoffs! I mean, c'mon. If every announcer was like this, think about how many tears there would be at the end of the season. It's ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Waldman and Sterling are perfect representatives for Yankees fans. I can't take any Yankee broadcast seriously when those two are announcing. Maybe if Waldman grew some thick skin, lost her accent and became a professional she wouldn't cry or be in hysterics next time she puts her head up Clemens's asshole.
Sterling is the Yankee version of Chris Berman and the YES announcers couldn't announce their way out of a we paper bag.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That was pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I dunno. You figure these beat reporters-- regardless of what you think of them (or the team they're covering) personally-- spend countless hours with the players and coaches they follow over the course of each season. That's bound to create a certain familial bond. And especially in the New York clubhouse, a place that's gone through some really emotional stuff during Torre's tenure-- his prostate cancer, the last month of the 2001 season which was literally a parade of tears every single goddamn day, some disappointments, some deaths, and the ongoing need to stick together on the field under the oppressive off-field reign of Steinbrenner-- I can imagine that even from an "unbiased" reporting standpoint, it would be difficult for anyone, man or woman, to separate themselves from the feelings that were flowing in that locker room last night. It's not worth explaining, because the Yankee haters will bash it anyway, but those of us lucky enough to have followed this team from the beginning know how special the Torre tenure has been. I know I sobbed like a baby watching his press conference on TV-- I can't imagine what it would have been like in person.

And finally, having met some TRULY soulless assholes who call themselves beat reporters, I'll take Waldman's sniffles any day. At least she gives a shit.

    Pam Ward wouldn't cry.

wait, Pam Ward is a woman???

  34. What a farce Suzyn Waldman is!!!

She's the only announcer who can make John Sterling look like a pro.

Get a hold of yourself Suzyn you FREAK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. She sure has a face for radio.

Shouldn't she be in the kitchen or something?

Now the fun begins... Spoiled, arrogant Yankee fans climbing all over each other and shouting each other down, arguing over who gets cannibalized first...

    Screw you, Yankee fans!
Screw you, your overpriced team, your over-rated players, and your stupid, mush-mouthed, two-year-old "accents."

    ReplyDelete
  36. Suzyn...It's GAME....

    ReplyDelete
  37. One question: what the Hell happened to her nose?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe "Suzyn" can have a three-way with Whoopi and Pelosi... Now that's something to really cry about. I remember about 15-20 years ago Democrat Senator Patsie Schroeder from Colorado actually cried on camera about losing her reelection bid. Girl's will be girls !!! This announcer is uglier than the MSG girl who just beat Isiah's arse in court.

    ReplyDelete
  39. In answer to "what happened to her nose?" Looks like she went 8 rounds with Mike Tyson. Anyone here remember Chuck Wepner, A.K.A. The Bayonne Bleeder? His schnozz was tiny compared to this skank's.

    ReplyDelete
  40. She's wasn't crying about wins and losses, she was crying about it being Torre's last game. Hell, I cried during Alvin Davis' last game, and Edgar Martinez', and, especially, the last game in the Kingdome.

The Yankees didn't hire Waldman to be dispassionate, they knew she wasn't. This isn't unheard of in baseball, case in point Ken Harrelson, Ron Santo, Jerry Remy--all broadcasters who are clearly partisans for their team.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would do her!

    ReplyDelete
  42. she's a bostonian for god's sake. we should ban her for life. stay in NYC, sellout.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The six O'Clock Sportcenter is now mocking her

    ReplyDelete
  44. I always thought Phil Rizzuto was the worst NY announcer I have ever heard. Suzy is really trying to pass him. Here is the contact for ESPN Radio:
    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?page=contact/radio
It has a dop down for comments bout announcers at step #1. You may have to copy & paste the addy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. This is atrocious. How does she have a job? Much worse, and much more embarrassing than the Clemens rant.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm so proud of her. That was couragious. It gave me a true sense of what it was like in that club house. Go Suzyn!

    ReplyDelete
  47. When the Hindenberg went down, it was ok for that reporter to cry. A chick from NEWTON, who is a Yankees fan and broadcaster crying because they lost?!?!, not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I don't have a problem with it. I think she expressed some of the feeling people who have been close to that team were also feeling. It isn't my style, and I found unintentionally humorous, but she was right about much of what she said. It may be unlikely we will ever see a run like this Yankees team has been. They will not be as good next year, especially if King George busts the team up to bring in more overpaid, aging ex-stars. I think Willie Mays is a free agent!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think her panties got moist when she screamed with joy over Clemens' return. And if I were a betting man, I'd say it's the only time in the last 20+ years that German Shepherd look a like has had any action.

    ReplyDelete
  50. She was crying over the top of Torre crying because WCBS fucked up didnt carry Torre's post game comments an what she was doing at point in the audio is actually telling the WCBS listeners what Torre said.

The FAN was beating her like a bad dog today and so was WEEI in Boston.

    Good Times!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. The local radio station here in southern NH was touting this as an "exclusive" clip earlier this afternoon...after I'd already seen it here and a couple other places.

They have a very loose definition of "exclusive".

    ReplyDelete
  52. So glad to see Brooklyn Met Fan continue to be a sexist pig and embarrass all Met fans who live in this century.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I respect Suzyn as a New England native but I do think she was a bit over the top when she cried on air.

Still, I have to say that Sterling's reply was just classic. . .I've never heard anything so comical over the radio.

Anyway, I hope the Yankees get rid of Torre as he is a fantastic manager. Bring on someone who can screw things up as Torre just made that team better!

    ReplyDelete
  54. This is pathetic.

I am a lifelong Red Sox fan -- I love the Red Sox. At 40 years old, I've gone through some real train wrecks with them...

But I've never seen reporters or broadcasters melt down like this.

I've always disliked the Yankees -- but it was always out of envy. Through all those negative feelings, I always respected the Yankees though...

    But this is pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  55. How about a Naked Tag Team Mud Wrestling Contest with this canine, Whoopi, Bawbwa Wawa, and Rosie O' Doughnut all wearing strap-ons? You could put it on Pay Per View and call it "The Beasts From The East."

    ReplyDelete
  56. Her lack of "journalistic objectivity" was evident in 2003 at the time of the famous Yankee-Red Sox brawl, when Zimmer took a header courtesy of Petey. She was positively foaming at the mouth with outrage, and couldn't form a complete sentence. It was embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So, how did it work out with the Yankees and the Rocket this year?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Who am I to talk? I'm a 46-year old baseball beat writer, who covers an East team. I grew up a die-hard Yankees fan. Thurman Munson is my all-time favorite Yankee. When he died, I cried for four straight days. After that, I cried once a week until the first week of the 1980 season. On Aug. 2, 1980, I threw a barbecue party because I didn't want to think about the one year anniversary of Munson's death. I didn't want to cry that day.

So I have no problem with what Waldman did. Keep crying. It makes you feel better.

    ReplyDelete
  59. There is no crying in baseball. This lady is such a sap. Joe Torre is one of the best managers ever in the history of baseball. Steinbrenner is a moron for getting rid of him. Torre has been the voice of reason in New York for a long time. He is the respected one, not Steinbrenner. This is coming from a Red Sox fan.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Waldman grew up in the Boston area as a die-hard Sox and Yankees fan. Only when Steinbrenner came calling to make her the job offers after she was the WFAN Yanks liason did she suddenly become some bigtime Yanks shill. I said it on Scott Ferrall's radio show once, and I'll say it again--she must be some sort of ventriloquist, being able to still talk with Steinbrenner's Unit so securely lodged in her gullet.

    ReplyDelete
  61. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6e-JMNU5SPw

The Stephen A. Smith hecklers weigh in.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anyone who's listened to WFAN knows just how bad Waldman is, but does anyone find her thick Boston accent both hilarious and ironic and the same time?

    ReplyDelete
  63. suzyn waldman is an embarssment to her gender and her profession. She should stay home and take care of the hubby and kids and leave the braodcasting to real pros like erin andrews, linda coen etc

    ReplyDelete
  64. i think it was embarassing, but there is nothing wrong at all with showing emotion. and i hate the posters that label tears and emotion as 'feminine'. that is such BS. they are human qualities. and men get just as emotional as women, they just hide it and think that it's honourable and dignified to do so. who says? if anything, that is dysfunctional. weakness is ignoring and stuffing yr emotions down for a lifetime rather than being strong enough and secure enough to share them.

but yeah, get a grip suzyn, srsly.

    ReplyDelete
  65. leave the braodcasting to real pros like erin andrews, linda coen etc

yeah cause we all need more fembots like them on tv.
along with most male broadcasters too, they are robots who bring no personal input to the table; no soul, no emotion, and worst of all no individuality.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It's fine to hate the Yankees, hate Waldman, and tear her a new one for for sniffling on the air. But some of these comments are sickening. What exactly makes you think you're entitled to talk endless trash about her looks and call her a cunt?

As for "no crying in baseball," Torre himself cries EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

I'm a reporter, and a woman, and I don't think Waldman's reaction was professional. But neither does it set feminism back -- she's one person doing one job, and given all the shit she takes from people like some of the commenters here, it's not an easy one. There's a lot to make fun of here, for sure, but she doesn't deserve to be talked about like something subhuman.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't even remember Andersen Cooper crying over Katrina. C'mon, Suzyn. Put it in perspective. Jeez.

    ReplyDelete
  68. ARod and Jeter should show her how to properly apply makeup.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Not doubt she's in the running as the worst braodcaster in sports - as a RS fan stranded in Yankeeland I hear it all the time. But the context for this incident was the possibility of Torre being fired, so it was a little personal. Still can't stand her!

    ReplyDelete
  70. There is no crying in baseball, except in New York. Go Sox!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. You all need to get a life. She's an announcer that knows more about baseball then most of you sissy's that never picked up a baseball in your life. Nothing wrong w/ emotion. For everything she has overcome I have the upmost respect for her. Go Suzyn these negative comments are rediculous to me. Unbelievable how many people need somthing in their life to really bitch about....

    ReplyDelete
  72. jhahhaha look at the yankees crying hahaha waaaaaa cryyyy lmao

they sucked our ass all year, then lose in the 1st round to the INDIANS.

    i call that. PWNAGE

yankees are gay, torre is a bitch, jeter swallows, a-rod cheats on his wife as well as the game.

nothing better than watching the so called empire fall once again.

    ReplyDelete
  73. She is the reason I do not listen to the Yankees on the radio...the only good thing about her on the radio is she can no longer be on TV. That was worse, because you had to look at her too. I don't know who she's blowing to keep this job with the Yankees, but it's down right ridiculous to keep her. Sterling is bad enough...

    ReplyDelete
  74. The choking up and crying over "the team breaking up" was bad enough (oh, poor Joe and the boys ... hope their multi-million-dollar contracts are enough to keep them happy).

But then the arrogant garbage she was spewing ... such as, "parity has come to baseball, the game has changed ... the rules have changed ...", suggesting that the Yankees would not be guaranteed to be in the World Series every single year.

Wow! I must have missed that memo by MLB -- the one stating the "new rule" that said the Yankees can't go to the World Series annually (as if it were their birthright previously).

    ReplyDelete
  75. She sure has a face for radio!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Suzyn Waldman is far more interesting to listen to than most male radio broadcasters; yeah the Clemens thing was embarrassing, but no more so than Stirling's ongoing idiocies--"An A-bomb...from A-Rod!" "Robbie Cano...Don't ya know!"

    ReplyDelete
  77. Look, I've been a Yankee fan for decades now. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, so I don't really get the YES broadcasts all that often. I have been listening to the Yanks games on my XM for the last 4 years, and I've gotta say while Suzyn is one of the VERY best statisticians in any booth in the majors, her on-air personality is just boring and tough to listen to.

While this episode doesn't alter my opinion of her, it does further fuel my desire for her to be removed from the on-air portion fo the WCBS broadcasts. Sorry, Suzyn... It's just really not your niche, but I love the work you do.

    ReplyDelete
  78. John Sterling was born Morty Horowitz and Susan Waldman was born a Red Sox fan. Who's the bigger pretender?

    ReplyDelete
  79. negative comments about the yankees? wow. how original.

leaving aside all the knee-jerk "YANKEES SUCK!" foolishness, let's start at the beginning. first of all, this broadcast is the new york yankees' radio network, so OF COURSE they're biased! does anyone remember ken harrelson on WGN back in the day? local crews who call games are ALWAYS biased. ESPN has an entire segment devoted to local radio people screaming their fool heads off about their teams. the allegations of "she's not objective!" are, therefore, stupid.

secondly, could some of you people be more sexist, vulgar and disgusting? you hide behind the anonymity of the internet and just let out every poisonous, hateful thought you've ever had. you'd never in a million years say any of these things face-to-face. telling suzyn waldman to "get back in the kitchen" and hurling degrading epithets like the c-word at her just shows how stupid, petty, hateful and juvenile some of you can be. would you ever call a woman you don't know this stuff to her face? i don't think so.

finally, there's nothing wrong with emotion in sports. how many of you cried when you watched "field of dreams" or "brian's song"? i thought that was at least some of the point of sports. a local color commentator giving in to the natural emotion of sport is part of the job. it happens all the time. the fact that the team is the yankees, who you all hate for basically no justifiable reason, doesn't change that at all.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Everyone,

I appreciate the opinions both for and against my views of the unprofessional nature of Waldman's tears on-air, but please.....PLEASE!....

Let's stop with calling here a "W-Word" and a "C-Word". There's no reason for that whatsoever, and I'm going to delete the comments anyway. If you want to call her a bad broadcaster, a homer, or unprofessional...feel free. But no more cursing.

I've deleted the offensive comments above, and I apologize if anyone was offended. You have to understand I'm only one person running this site (and have a separate full time job)...I can't immediately delete things as they come through.

    Thanks for your understanding.

  86. Reason number 1,000,000 why women should not be allowed to announce, commentate analyze or have anything to do with the broadcast of sports. political correctness is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  87. hahaha what a baby... there's no crying in baseball

    ReplyDelete
  88. About two years ago, I tried listening to John and Suzyn on AM 1270 in New Hampshire, I think the Yankees were playing the Sox (yes, I'm a Sox fan). I tuned in and Suzyn must not have realized her mike was on. The first thing i EVER heard this woman say was, "Is he going to grab his b*lls now?" Classy...

    ReplyDelete
  89. Suzyn crying on air is certainly nothing new. She cried when the Yankees had Cory Lidle's son throw out the first pitch. She cried during a 911 remebrance.

I can understand her crying because of the faces of the Yankees or looking at upset fans. But she didn't sound too upset when she was announcing the bottom of the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  90. That picture tells you why she is on radio.

    ReplyDelete
  91. hahahaha.

ROGER CLEMENS, HES INJURED ONCE AGAIN.

"you should see the dugout right now. posada has a smile on his face, pettite knew."

    that woman has a mouth.

and she has that boston accent. which pisses me off.

    ReplyDelete
  92. it depends, i remember the 2005-2006 season of the buffalo sabres....it was like a fairytale story a team that was never given a shot to win, made it all the way to the playoffs, and sustained huge injuries but pushed it to game 7 in the ecf and lost it.

im not even a fan of the sabres but that was one of the magical moments in sports to see a team play with such heart and come up just short. when players leave everything on the ice or field it deserves recognition and can sometimes be emotional.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Holy Cow!

I can't believe the media has made so much of so little.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Does he really say "An A-bomb...from A-Rod!" "Robbie Cano...Don't ya know!" Man, that is really, really lame.

Of course it's ok to cry about sports. And no you cannot extricate your feelings from every story. But you should suppress them and do the job.

    ReplyDelete
  95. PLEASE send her on her way didn't she hear what TOM HANKS SAID there's no crying in baseball .. the players and coaches make MILLIONS to cry cause torre might not be around be glad he was u won 4 world series and been in the play offs 12 years in row .. The yankees can give it out and say we are the best now that they are not THEY ARE CRYING the world is better today cause it all balances out SEE

    ReplyDelete
  96. Sportscasters should not cry on air...unless Jesus comes back at halftime...

  97. I'm a Red Sox fan, and remember Bob Lobel (TV sportcaster for WBZ in Boston), doing the postgame wrapup for Gam6 1986 World Series with tears in his eyes. It was very poignant, as anyone who was watching was feeling the exact same way.

So, although I can laugh at it as an outsider, I'm not sure if I were a Yankees fan I would be as critical. I mean - I hate the Yankees but I sort of got misty watching Torre in the postgame clubhouse.

  98. what pathetic misogynst comments. I can't believe I live in the same city/country as these morons.

  99. I hate the Yankees and have for years. I listen to lots of games on XM radio and she is not the best but there are worse male baseball announcers out there.
Her emotion was somewhat understandable. These are players and coaches she has had a working relationship with for some time and she "feels their pain."

  100. She shouldbe fired immediately, what a disgrace to the Yankees and baseball as a whole.

  101. What I hate is that everyone's looking at the fact she's a woman and not as a reporter. Man or woman, unless it's death or catastrophe -- sign off before the waterworks begin. There's crying in baseball all right, just not in public.

  102. All good things do come to an end.
Torre leaves, if he does leave, with class. Shedding a tear for the loss of a good, classy man, is hardly a vice.

  103. Part of being human is having emotions. How sad is it that men cannot cry because it is not macho and she cannot cry because it is not professional. But when John Sterling is emotional about a ball going out of the park thats okay.
Get a life people. We are in this country because we have freedoms that allow us to be emotional and speak freely. True Yankee fans have heart, the heart that won the world series. Get some.

  104. What get's me is,Joe wasn't told
officially that he was gone so
    what's with the premature reaction?

Sorry,it just comes off as so so
    unprofessional.I could never stand
    her nor Sterling.I'm glad that
I don't have to listen to these
    two bozos.

    I've been listening to Yankees
baseball for 32 years and those
    two are undoubtedly the worse.

Why do they keep them on??

  105. What is the big deal anyway? Who cares if she was crying or not? Aren't there better things to worry about? I can't even believe this is such a big deal.

  106. Hey "Suzyn".... It's spelled S-u-s-a-n........ This broad has always been the worst. You know it's long been rumored she used to be Steinbrenner's mistress, back before he joined the Drooler Academy. The Clemens thing was hilarious enough. It sounded like Roger's mother was announcing his return... Now this? I'm amazed she can cry or speak at all, what with all those Yankee d**ks in her mouth!

  107. She should be fired for THAT VOICE ALONE !! She sounds like she's being nailed in the arse by Shaquille O'Neil.

  108. The Yankee radio broadcasts are awful

Harold Moskowitz (aka John Sterling) and his stupid nick names and repetious dumb phrases for homeruns etc ruin listening to the game

Suzyn comes off like a star struck high school girl in love with the players, refering to them by thier first names and drooling over them

2 jackass's that deserve each other

  109. I had a narrow nose, which made my friends to comment on the same. I had fallen in depression and did not recover until I got a cure for the same with Rhinoplasty non-surgical nose job done. Good post to go… Thanks guys!

  110. This is what makes Suzyn real to her audience. Shes not a fake sports broadcaster, she shows emotion, shes a fan. All these broadcasters are so fake now a days its great to hear broadcasters who are fans of there teams announce the games. Nothings wrong with showing some emotion.

  111. I can't stand this woman. She should not be on the radio for more than a minute and Sterling has gotten out of control. Please take a minute and read and sign this petition about the two of them:

  112. Most of you are a bunch of freakin losers. Suzyn Waldman has accomplished more in her life than any of you pathetic whiners can ever hope to. And to the ultimate loser, a PETITION?, go shove that petition where the sun don't shine. And dont me that BS about having a corner on the market, the last title my boys won was nine years ago. I love the Yankees, and John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, because they've got class, unlike some of you jerks.

  113. She cried because Torre was leaving, not over a loss. Jackass.

  114. ummmm am i the only one that realizes the person who wrote this is an idiot. the yankees are never on wfan. its wcbs. as for suzyn well yeah shes the most awful thing on radio. i say radio because tim mccarver is the worst thing on the air.
