FOX And ABC Release BCS Bowl Game Announcers

This is FOX's last year putting on the all of the BCS Bowl Games, other than the Rose Bowl on ABC (and the Championship Game this year), and they released the names of the individuals calling the games in January. Both FOX has decided to give the booth to their NFL announcing teams, while the Rose Bowl and Championship Game will feature the only true College announcing team of Musburger and Herbstreit, on ABC. Here's your list....

Rose Bowl - Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit (ABC, January 1st)
Sugar Bowl - Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick (FOX, January 1st)
Fiesta Bowl - Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan (FOX, January 4th)
Orange Bowl - Dick Stockton and Charles Davis (FOX, January 5th)
BCS Championship Game - Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit (ABC, January 7th)

  1. Yeah, what's with Marv? You still have Marv on your mind from your last post?

  2. I wish Keith Jackson was still in broadcasting. The best in football I ever got to hear.

  3. You mean Brent Musberger, right? Not Marv Albert

  5. Any how I am so glad FOX is done after this year because they were awful on the BCS last year. With that being said, here are my ESPN teams for next season for the BCS assuming everything stays the same.
Rose Bowl Brad Nessler Todd Blackledge
Fiesta Bowl Brent Musberger Kirk Herbstreit
Sugar Bowl Sean McDonough Matt Millen
Orange Bowl Mark Jones Bob Davie

National Title obivously Brent and Kirk
With that being said, some of you might not like my predictions but I wanted to try to think of the top crews and who would go where.

  7. The Capital One and Outback Bowls will sure be getting the announcing shaft now, since the games will be closer together in upcoming years. Pam Ward live from Tampa...Happy New Year's

  8. Fox has an NFL doubleheader on 1/3 and their BCS broadcasters are gonna be cutting it close.

Also, if I'm not mistaken this is the last Rose Bowl game on the ABC network. The Granddaddy of Them All will be seen on ESPN come 2011.

  10. How can Charlie "He's got a run/pass option here" Davis slide from the Fiesta Bowl to the Orange Who Gives A Damn Bowl? The man comes prepared.

  11. Fox had ONE good BCS broadcast back in their first year. They sent Kenny Albert, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long to the Sugar Bowl. Probably one of the most entertaining football games ever. Mike Francesa spent a good hour on FAN talking about how Fox needed to dump Brennaman and Alvarez and bring those guys back. At least we got one Kenny, Moose, and Goose game in the BCS last year.

  12. So, only the Sugar Bowl and the Orange Bowl are unwatchable this year?

  16. To me one of the most annoying things about the BCS is the degradation of the Orange Bowl. It used to be the Big 8 champion, either Oklahoma or Nebraska, vs. some really good team, Penn State or Notre Dame or whoever, on New Year's night on NBC. Now it's an afterthought game banished to January 5 on FOX. I want to go back to the days where Cotton, Rose, Sugar, Orange were the true New Year's Day celebration of college football.

  17. Here's where I get all Phil Mushnick (from the NY Post). It's all about the TV$... Now we only get two major BCS games on New Years day... So get your Rose Bowl, one of the other BCS bowls and your other toilet bowls on New Years Day... Blech!

  18. GOD, I would take the NFL announcers or the flaming fool MOOSEBURGER, and OHIO STATE HOMIE PRETTY FAG BOY WALKINGTHE STRIET.

At least I have the Eli Gold on the Bama radio network to listen too.

For you Bama fans Herbstriet was the only espn head not to pick bama that his choice.

Mooseburger I have hated his voice for 20 years.

He and Vern need to get married and open a speech clinic.

    ROLL TIDE....

  19. Kenny Albert forgot Sugar Bowl the play-by-play function of sports casting but enegaed in incessant cross conversation with the co-host on Jan 1,2010.It was damn terrible coverage. New payers cmanr into the game without identification as the two hosts engaged in abstact coversations. Next time I will rely on radio for the play-by-play an mute Fox Network volume.
