Yall are being real tough on Mr. Morgan. He did not just say that he liked the way Reyes ran around the bases. Joe added that he loved how Reyes hit the ball and "Proceeded" to run around the bases.

"Proceeded" adds a lot to his comment. :-)

first of all, yes, he clearly meant that he liked that he ran rather quickly around the bases: that's a stupid point. he was analyzing the homerun swing, and he chose to highlight a BS, irrelevant, "hustle," "scrappy," detail of the way he traveled the bases. so...he's a moron. he was not making a "good point."

what makes it funny is that he's so uneloquent that even those points that would be pretentious, impertinent dribble coming from anyone else, are additionally ambiguous, silly, painfully obvious since the lead analyst on the WWL is such a horrendous public speaker.

BUT...I've come to expect it from him. I have to say I'm FAR more disheartened to see the number of viewers who actually thought this was a salient observation than I was to see a known baffoon continuing to act like a baffoon.

I would just like to point out that it took exactly 3 minutes into Sunday night's broadcast for Joey to flub a line. He was talking about Wang and comparing his sinker to - from what I could gather - Brandon Webb's. But this is about how it came out...

It was almost like he was correcting himself, as if the Diamondbacks were not from Arizona.

I was watching the Cards-Rays game on Sunday, with Jay Randolph, Sr, and Rick Horton doing the pbp and color. That was bad enough(I wish Randolph would stick to golf and horse racing, and Horton just stfu), but then Mike Shannon and Horton switched places for a couple of innings in the middle of the game(they only do it when the game is on KSDK). Jesus H. Christmas, my ears started to bleed from the old fogie vibe coming off my computer screen. I know that's what he was trying to get at, and I would even agree with that statement if that's what actually came across. That being said, he's paid to talk with some sort of eloquence, or at least clarity, about the game and how it's played. That's pretty much the bare minimum of his job, right?
