I'm am not kidding in the least with the headline above. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce released the names of the latest individuals to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and THE Christopher Berman is on the list. Joining the ESPNer is a cavalcade of dignitaries, entertainment pros and....Mark Wahlberg....
A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was announced today by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 15, and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.In all seriousness, Berman did do a ton for television back in the 80s and early 90s. And while his act has gotten a little stale over the years, he definitely deserves to have a spot on the Walk of Fame. Enjoy it, Boomer!

ReplyDeleteBerman had a few slip ups this morning. Not clear why they don't give Tirico full time hosting duties given the quality difference. And the fellating of NYC/Long Island is absurd. Why are they back at Bethpage Black only 7 years after they were last here for the Open?

ReplyDeleteSteve Czban brought up a good point this morning: if Berman gave a demo tape to ESPN today, would they hire him? The answer is No. He was great back in the day, but his schtick--for the most part--is played out. I like him on Prime Time, but ESPN would probably be best to start phasing him out.
