Brandon Stokley Almost Causes A Death In The Booth
I've always been the first person to defend the boisterous Gus Johnson, but yesterdays call of the Bengals epic fail, was by far the most over-the-top reaction I've ever heard. As Brandon Stokley was running down the sidelines with under :20 left on the clock, Johnson almost had a coronary....
Wow. I guess Football is officially back, and apparently Dan Fouts was born in nineteen dickity two. Super Bowl V? Really, Dan???
We here in Columbus OH had the "pleasure" of watching this game and the Browns game yesterday. Between Fouts and Billick, I can't decide who's analysis was worse. Especially Fouts reapeated rips on Leon Hall on afore mentioned Stokely miracle TD. What was Leon Hall supposed to do, not make a play on the ball? Fouts insists he could've picked it off or knocked it down (don't you think he would've if he could've) and that the pass would've been incomplete had not Hall made a play on the ball. Yeah, he should've just not made a play. Why can't Brian Baldinger announce every game I watch?
In defense of Gus Johnson, he had just suffered through calling a very slow-paced Bengals/Broncos game before the tipped pass TD. He had pent up announcer energy.
