T.O. Did Not Commit Suicide

But he's still a dick.

As far as the Bill Simmons' Chat....there's really only one response to post.

Josh (Indy): What happened to your old intern, Kevin Cott?

SportsNation Bill Simmons: He graduated from law school and just took the bar... I am trying to get him to start his own sports blog. I have this great idea for him - instead of writing columns and testing the limits of his talents, he can just sit back and post snarky comments all day about other people's columns. I think this could work.

Oh he's aware....he's aware. Does testing the limits of your talents involve a game of mad libs? Or going through older Mad Libs changing a few nouns and verbs and sending them out to the masses? It does?!?! Okay then, tomorrow I'm starting the Skip Bayless posts all over again.

"You're a public figure. When you screw up, people are going to write about it. Get over yourself." - Bill Simmons, Jan. 17th 2006

Anyways, today was a crazy day. Back tomorrow with some fresh meat: Tuesday Morning Quarterback (okay everyone....you will only hear this once.....are you ready??? You were right....his column is pretty good if you have 4 hours to kill) and Scoop Jackson (It's okay that I make fun of Scoop Jackson right? Good.).

(Update: The title of this post should actually read T.O. Did Not Attempt Suicide. I think it's actually more funny this way though.)

It's great when somebody who does review films from time to time criticizes people who might want to "review" a column." His criticism of bloggers is the equivalent of an athlete saying "You can't criticize me unless you've played the game" or a director chastizing reviewers for not understanding him.

I am sorry maybe you already touched on this, but didnt Simmons make some Smart A$$ comment in one of his columns about people who have sites that just rip on people in the media? Maybe the NFL column or mailbag last week. I thought about your site when I read it.

No one really likes criticism in anything but when people act super defensive, it means that they have hit a sore spot and most of it is true.

Did you catch how he took defense of ESPN over Whitlock but then later had a jab at ESPN. I am sure they edited it later.

Keep up the good work, I am a regular reader.

PS. Maybe you should do a top 10 list of best announcers out there. Kinda puts the lid on Billy Boys criticism of Bloggers just being haters.

I agree with Pacifist Viking's statement.

And what exactly is Simmons' point? That sports fans should just read columns without thinking about them or commenting on him? And does he realize that (with respect to this blog) many bloggers are writing about sports more than sportswriters?

Kevin Cott sucked. The original intern Jamie was much better. Cott does have a blog (http://kevincott.blogspot.com/). And he doesn't include a link to Sports Guy's World either.
