John Kruk Wants To Be Your Local Weatherman

In the pantheon of dumb ideas ala the mini fields on set, and that pointless picture of the week contest they have now, I give you "Playing the Wall" with John Kruk. Via Bugs and Cranks....

Hahaha. How funny is that? You have arguably one of the most unathletic infielders trying to tell current outfielders how to play their position! They couldn't have got Chris Singleton to do that segment? Also, you might want to update that green screen technology ESPN. The Krukster looks like a poor man's Al Roker. Good times.

  1. At least his wife doesn't think he's disgusting anymore.

  2. Regardless of Kruk's "unathleticness", he was a MLB ball player and therefore has more credibility than the writer of this blog. His strategy is obviously correct, as the player who uses it holds the runner to a single and the player who doesn't allow an inside the park home run.

  3. Why is Rick Majerus wearing that wig?

  4. Mrs Kruk? Is that you??? Answer me this....how many balls do you think John has played off an outfield wall? I played RF in High School Baseball and I probably have more experience on a play like that than him.

But again....the post was a joke. It's Friday my friend....relax.

  5. Check your stats - The Krukster played 431 major league games in the outfield. Probably a little more experience than your HS team.

  6. That is one of the WORST key effects I have ever seen. I guess the beige shirt is too close to the green from the key computer's standpoint, meaning they had to lay off the sensitivity and leave Kruk one massive, ugly outline.

Yeah, it's totally that. Not at all ESPN's ability to buy a top-of-the-line keyer but instead settling for the cheap consumer version. Grr...

  7. John Kruk, that damn hack, this week critized Philly fans for still booing JD Drew 10 years after he refused to sign with the club. Hey Johnny boy, we'll stop booing when we don't have to hear any Santa Claus or booing McNabb at the draft references anymore from ESPN personnel anymore.

  8. I'm just wondering why they needed to have him in front of that green screen in the first place, especially during the highlight. Couldn't they have just had him intro in on camera, and then go to the videotape? Did he really add anything to the video with his body? (Other than taking up half the screen...)
