Seems like an honest slip of the tongue, but according to the BBC website over thirty people called into complain, and Pardew has issued an apology....
Pardew used the word rape to describe a tackle while discussing a game between Manchester City and Chelsea.I truly think that whoever ends up saying the word, is actually trying to say "raked", but for some reason their thought process takes them right to rape. Maybe people should stop saying it all together because the word raked is almost always going to sound like raped to the listener's ear.
The former Charlton manager said in a statement released by the BBC that he "apologises unconditionally for any offence caused" in Sunday's programme.
The BBC said it had not taken a decision on whether the pundit would be invited back to work on the show.

What kind of person would actually waste their time to call a network and complain about this???
