I mentioned last week that ESPN planned to stalk Michael Vick as he left Leavenworth today. Well apparently Vick used his once elusive Football skills, to escape the "Leader's" (and every other media outlet) cameras. Here is Hannah Storm talking about just that with on-site reporter Kelly Naqi. Via Fang's Bites....
How funny is that? On the surface you would think it'd be virtually impossible to leave undetected, but that's obviously not the case. All that work for a shot of a random reporter standing in the wind outside of a prison. Good times.
Can't wait to see the highlights of Micheal Vick putting out the trash each night on sportscenter. Are they going to have somebody at his work too? Give the man some space. I don't think 24/7 coverage of Mike Vick is neccessary, but this is ESPN we're talking about.
It's a two sentence story on Sports Center and/or online: Michael Vick was released from prison today. He will serve the remaining two months of his sentence at home.
I wonder if ESPN learned any lessons. Probably not. Later tonight I'm sure there will be a ticker item about Chris Mortensen confirming that Vick left the prison undetected.
ESPN is not the only media outlet devoting extensive coverage to Vick's release. This story seems to show that many news outlets are weighing in on the Vick release and potential return to the NFL. http://www.newsy.com/videos/vick_s_release_sparks_debate
This is another ESPN-with-egg-on-face moment. I can't get enough of those.
ReplyDeleteLove it! ... let's see if they can try it with Brett what's-his-face!
