  1. They need to figure out a way to get Bela Karolyi involved.

  2. If only ABC would lend Gary Thorne to NBC for hockey...

  3. Tom Hammond is a man of many talents. Going from Notre Dame football, to women's figure skating to probably doing an Auburn/Miss St. basketball game in Starkville. Talk about going from primtime to the outhouse.

  4. NBC has a great lineup of play-by-play guys lined up in what should be a great Olympics. Particularly underrated are Tim Ryan and Dan Hicks.

  5. Slightly off topic AA, but did you and NBC ever kiss & make up? They put the Olympic Pimp Hand on this site during the Summer Games...

  6. Matty V doing another sport he doesn't know shit about.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  7. Worst hockey announcing lineup ever assembled, holy crap.

  8. Anyone else find it sad that Jeremy Roenick - a member of the "Ugly Americans" 1998 squad that trashed their rooms after a stellar 1-3 performance and blasted Team USA in 2006 for leaving him off the roster and threatened to openly root for Canada if he was a commentator for NBC - now is an Olympics commentator for NBC? Any chance NBC will bring that up during the broadcasts this time around?

  9. They brought Al Michaels back for his first olympics since '88. He's hosting Daytime studio coverage.

Doc Emrick and Gary Thorne are interchangeable to me. Both are incredible for hockey. Dan Hicks is great at what he does (see: swimming, 2008).

  10. I think you missed that Fred Roggin is also on Curling.

  11. Doc Emrick makes any hockey game worth watching, and one of the reasons I got into broadcasting. I agree that Dan Hicks is underrated, but when your main sport is golf, you fly under the radar. Tim Ryan is a classic announcer that no one ever talks about.

  12. Well...I see we're 40 minutes into the Olympic coverage and already I've had to endure stupid interviews from Cris Collinsworth and Dan Patrick. Neither have any idea how to conduct one. Ugh.

For me, I think this part will make for a long Olympics.
