Well folks, College Football is upon us, and so are the Pam Ward Chronicles. I'll be updating the quotes throughout the day, but I need your help. If you hear something random, funny, overly sexual and/or completel

ReplyDelete"Those guys are ankle bitters, like gnats. Like nasty gnats."-Chris Spielman.
ReplyDeleteTalking about the Navy's O-Line
"If your long, your never wrong."-Chris Spielman
ReplyDeletePam Ward: Stoudemire had a terrific "KI-ck return." Emphasis on ki.

ReplyDelete"That's how Navy won the past couple of years, Pitt, Notre Dame couldnt stop their offense"
Bob Griese, shocking insightful commentary
He ran into an orange wall - Dave Neal
ReplyDelete"when youre on your knees youre no good" - Spielman on Navy's TD
ReplyDeleteThe Miami (OH) local radio announcer just called the Redhawks the Hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteLiberty is tied with West Virginia.
ReplyDelete"I want a stallion package" -Pam Ward
ReplyDeleteKind of weird seeing some of the cheap Morgantown commercials on the West Virginia feed.
ReplyDelete@ joe 12:52
ReplyDeleteIve got the GamePlan feed of WVU, nothing but Sportscenter promos between game action.
And how many Syracuse highlights are we gonna have to see with a former Pukie as QB ? WWL my backside
Come on 15 comments? Are these announcers behaving themselves.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile Paulus has got a gun. If only he could play basketball well.
"We only have a half-dozen camera's"-Pam Ward
ReplyDeleteShe made it sound she was working for some local broadcast instead of ESPN.
Paulus for the Heisman and all that....this lovefest Ward and Bentley are having with Paulus is sickening.
ReplyDeleteTwo mistakes: Joe McDonnell on Sporting News Radio calls Neyland Stadium "NEI-land Stadium".
ReplyDeleteBob Berger calls Charleston Southern, Florida's opponent, Charleston State.
@SSR
ReplyDeleteSpielman and Griese are talking over each other and the WWL (alleged) is too busy interrupting Navy-Suckeyes for Paulus highlights.
Plus no Doc Walker this week that's good for 15 comments a half at least
"After that big 14-3 lead." - Pam Ward thinks an 11 point hole early in the game is a big margin
ReplyDelete"Jeff Wills, who is beyond large, at 6'7 weighing 385 pounds." - Pam Ward
ReplyDelete"Inertia"- Pam Ward
ReplyDeleteSo we're reading people's Twitter posts on the air for a football game.
ReplyDeleteThis is complete overkill.
Way to be super delayed on the touchdown call, Pam.
ReplyDelete"That was a great drive lead by the General, Greg Paulus."-Ray Bentley
ReplyDeleteWow that T-Mobile commercial with Whoopie, Phil Jackson, and Jesse James was creepy.
ReplyDelete"How did you have more hair now, then you did back then?"-Dave Pasch
ReplyDeleteTalking to Spielman
"How much do they charge for those t-shirts, 60, 70 bucks?" - Dave Pasch on shirts at OSU with Chris Spielman on them.
ReplyDelete"I'm not a male model." - Chris Spielman
Wow....
Pasch sporting the goatee, nice. Wonder if they'll talk about it like they have everything else?
ReplyDeleteFrom Matt Devlin, announcing for the Big Ten Network in the Penn State-Akron game: "Everything they've done defensively (Penn State) can be attributed to their defense."
ReplyDeleteAnd we wonder why the BTN is not in more markets...
Some of the announcers they put on those low-end Big Ten Network games I've never even heard of. Dan Gutowsky?
ReplyDeleteNavy is giving Ohio State a fight. The Big Ten needed 1 day to embarrass themselves.
ReplyDelete"Did he have possession." - Dave Pasch
ReplyDeleteThe Navy receiver freaking got dragged for a yard or so and that's an obvious fumble.
Now Pasch has no idea what the rules are involving reviewing plays.
Well that's game. Ohio State manages to survive.
ReplyDeleteYou can make a 52 yard FG but not an 18 yard extra point?
ReplyDeleteOn that BTN feed of Montana St.-Michigan St, they're calling Spartan QB Keith Nichol "Keith Knuckle."
ReplyDelete"I think Maguire covered that game." - Bob Griese talking about the last time Ohio State hosted a service academy, 1930-something.
ReplyDeleteRay Bentley: "That is the only time Williams hasn't caught the ball with his hands today. He let his body get into it."
ReplyDeleteOHIO STATE COME ON!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Let's see if they'll go for 1 or 2 right now." - Spielman
It's a 9 point game so what happens if you miss the 2? Gosh Spielman that's basic math.
Wow. Navy is actually back in this thing.
ReplyDelete@ SSR: You do realize that basic math is a course not offered at Ohio State, don't you?
ReplyDelete"His wingspan is as long as his legs!" - Spielman talking about Pryor's wingspan.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, Pryor. You choked.
ReplyDeleteJack Crowe for Jacksonville State in a red and black tie, white shirt. One of the few other than Paterno in a shirt and tie.
ReplyDeleteNavy picks of Pryor!!! LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteTOUCHDOWN NAVY!!!! WOW!!!!! Two point game!
ReplyDelete"They would not have gotten Dobbs if it was 2-hand touch." - Bob Griese
ReplyDeleteUNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Two points for Ohio State!!!!
ReplyDelete"All these Buccaneers." - Bob Griese
ReplyDelete"All these Buccaneers out there." - Bob Griese on the Ohio State defense
ReplyDeleteBuckeyes win.
ReplyDeleteCrap.
Navy definitely gave them a fight.
"Ellestad booms it.....well short." - Pam Ward
ReplyDelete"Paulus' team still in the lead." - Pam Ward. I think I know what she will be doing after the game...
Oh man JFein don't give us that visual involving Pam and Paulus.
ReplyDelete"It sounds like a basketball game here with fans chanting, 'Let's Go Orange!' during the timeout." - Pam Ward
ReplyDelete@ SSR: Pam Ward is creating that visual for herself with the way she has been slobbering all over Paulus.
ReplyDelete"Smart move by a smart guy." - Pam Ward
ReplyDeleteThis is more than enough.
"Paulus says 'oh no. This ain't good, I'm gonna pull out of this one'." - Ray Bentley
ReplyDeleteSurely not the first time that Paulus has said that...
I still think the best comment from the Navy/OSU game was in regards to Terrelle Pryor's eye black. Paraphrased:
ReplyDeleteTerrelle has Mike under one eye and Vick under the other. We are not sure if that is a reference to Michael Vick.
Back to me:
Wait, you arent sure? You arent sure thats a reference to Michael Vick? Really?!?!?!
The infallible Paulus gets sacked. Ward and Bentley are devastated.
ReplyDelete"Whether the ball bounces or not once you make the fair catch signal you can't run with it." - Ray Bentley
ReplyDeleteInsightful remark.
Iowa survives against Northern Iowa. The Big Ten is awful.
ReplyDelete"The Gophers have already driven 72 yards in 10 plays in this drive." - Pam Ward
ReplyDeleteYou should have heard the color guy, Anthony Herron, screaming like it was the game that would have ended the season if they didn't win.
ReplyDelete"This is a critical down here, 3rd down." - Ray Bentley
ReplyDeleteBrillant!
"What else would you want on opening day with Greg Paulus making his debut with the Syracuse Orange?" - Ray Bentley after Minnesota tied the game at 20.
ReplyDeleteYou just knew Ward's first game would be going to OT.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else kinda turned on by Wendi Nix's look?
ReplyDeleteWow...the Lucky Charms leprechaun and Shiva the Destroyer of football teams are calling the OSU-Georgia game...something tells me this is going to be fun.
ReplyDeleteAtrocious tackling by Minnesota.
ReplyDeletePAULUS JUST LOST SYRACUSE THE GAME!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
ReplyDeleteMINNESOTA WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 23-20 the final!
ReplyDelete"300 million dollars in repairs doesn't fix the refs microphone."-Sean McDonough
ReplyDelete"Others will see Western Michigan OR Michigan." - Wendy Nix....apparently they aren't playing each other today.
ReplyDeletefunkdoctor, I agree. Wendi Nix is bangin today with those nerdy glasses. Me like.
ReplyDeleteYo.
ReplyDeleteMatt Millen just gave out a "boom" when a player made a tackle. I think someone is auditioning to be the next Madden.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete"The QB looks over at the sidelines for signals from several signalers. Only one of them is live. The others are just dummies...no offense intended" - Sean McDonough.
ReplyDeleteFirst game for Ron Franklin today as part of his farewell tour, as he's retiring after the NIT Final.
ReplyDelete"Pryor is so mobile; he's better when he's pressured" Lou Holtz
ReplyDelete"The talent gap between the Spartans and Trojans are pretty wide" Petros Papadakis
ReplyDeleteReferee Ron Cherry is on the Baylor-Wake Forest game. Just in case if you hear a call, watch that game.
ReplyDeleteJ.C. Pearson about Wake Forest LB Jonathan Jones filling Aaron Curry's shoes: "I don't know how big his shoe size is, but they got to be big to fill his shoes."
ReplyDeleteTHE SEAHAWKS HAVE CUT BRIAN RUSSELL!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://blogs.nfl.com/2009/09/05/seahawks-part-ways-with-veteran-s-russell/
YES!!!
"The depth of USC is mindboggling!" Petros Papadakis
ReplyDelete"They know how to get it crackin" Petros Papadakis
BRIAN RUSSELL IS CUT AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I fainted.
"Fullbacks are getting jealous around the country" Petros Papadakis
ReplyDeleteCan someone get some water, oxygen, and chill pills for SSR?
ReplyDeleteI know this is the Pam Ward Chronicles, but check out this quote from Dick Stockton during the Giants-Brewers game. He actually asked Brewers manager this question.
ReplyDelete"So Christmas is around the corner, when you sit on Santa's lap, what will you ask him for?"
"He (Mike Gundy) is a man and he is over 40" - Sean McDonough.
ReplyDeleteMy tolerance for Russell's goofs on the field he makes on a regular basis was reached last year.
ReplyDeleteThis was completely unexpected.
WE CUT HIM!!! RUSKELL IS THE MAN!!!
"It took Dez Bryant 25 minutes to get his first catch. Why?" - Holly Rowe to Mike Gundy in an interview
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: Do realize there are 3 stages in life. At first you're a kid and you believe in Santa. Then you grow up and realize there is no such as Santa (sorry little kids who are reading this). Then you get so old that you become senile and believe in Santa again. Dick Stockton is at that last stage.
@JFein, Juan Uribe just hit a Werth off of Lincecum type of homer and Dick Stockton called it like it barely went over the wall.
ReplyDeleteJoe Buck shows more enthusiasm, then Stockton did for that call.
Lawyer Milloy to the Seahawks!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy this is amazing.
Mark Jones's open Thursday night: "These Idahoans are trying to mine a 24-karat BCS-busting win."
ReplyDeleteThat Kenny Chesney song gets very repetitive.
I couldn't hear the full quote but McDonough said something about someone getting banged.
ReplyDeleteBRIAN RUSSELL HAS BEEN CUT!!!!
"He got the first down unless our yellow line is off and that is almost never the case" - Sean McDonough. Doesn't he know he is supposed to say "the yellow line is unofficial"?????
ReplyDeleteOn ESPN.com: they have an upset alert: #13 Georgia 7, #9 Oklahoma State 10 - 12:05 3rd Qtr.
ReplyDeletePlease, Okie State was supposed to win.
During the USC/San Jose state game the color guy said, San Jose who practices and plays in San Jose... well no shit sherlock, where else would San Jose play.... Los Angeles
ReplyDeleteRay Bentley-"You can't win 'em all if you don't win the first one."
ReplyDelete@ 49er16: That's because a Los Angeles Dodger did not hit that homerun. Duh.
ReplyDelete@ Big Anthony: That's Petros Papadakis for you.
ReplyDelete"He's like a ballet dancer, strong in the upper body, graceful in the lower body" Petros Papadakis
ReplyDeleteBentley was a special kind of awful today.
ReplyDelete"They gotta play Utah and that's no box of chocolates" Barry Tomkins
ReplyDelete"San Jose State is the probably the first team that has to play 2 BCS bowl winners in their non conference" Petros
"I'm not very good at math" Barry Tomkins
ReplyDelete"Me either" Petros
Eric Karros just said Matt Cain should: "Let Ryan Bruan hit a home run to get to Fielder."
ReplyDeleteWhy would that be their strategy?
Paul Maguire is calling the Citadel-UNC game on ESPN360.
ReplyDelete"Samuel banged down at the 18-yard line." - Sean McDonough
ReplyDelete"Aaron Corp is on the field as a wide receiver." Barry Tomkins
ReplyDeleteThat's not Aaron Corp, and that guy isn't even white.
Holy. Crap. What a hit!
ReplyDeleteMcDonough and Millen are clueless.
ReplyDeleteThat flag was for taunting by # 18 not the hit by # 9.
"When you see a hatless official showing us their beautiful foreheads, they are telling us that a player stepped out of bounds" Petros Papadakis
ReplyDeleteCraig James:" You've got to know your balls."
ReplyDeleteA long paused followed his statement
William and Mary-Virginia game, Jim Barbar: "The possession clock is a few seconds greater than the time clock."
ReplyDelete"If your name is Ryno, you got to play football" Barry Tomkins
ReplyDeleteMillen Around > Taste of Town, at least dont have to see Blackledge stuffinf his face.
ReplyDelete"It's not like BYU has a slouch at Quarterback in Max Hall."-Brad Nessler
ReplyDeleteBrad Nessler has quickly become one of my least favorite announcers.
ReplyDeleteThe presentation on Sun Sports of the Gator game is horrible. The score bar that's supposed to at the very top is about 1/5 of the way down. The Sun Sports logo is completely above it. Is this the same on other channels that are televising the game?
ReplyDeleteThe world is saved Tebow just led Florida on a TD drive
ReplyDeleteAll Demps needs is a crack, and hes gone. The analyst on Florida game
@Ted McCarver
ReplyDeleteSame way on Game Plan feed, Sun Sports is probably using that.
Fox Sports South doesn't have that bug.
ReplyDelete"That's Big XII hair."-Nessler
ReplyDelete"That's WWF hair."-Todd Blackledge, talking about an Oklahoma players hair.
Um, it's no longer called the WWF.
Even though Nessler isnt on the Pammy team, he still will be nominated for stupid quotes.
ReplyDelete"Here's another 3rd and double digit situation for oklahoma" - Nessler
ReplyDeleteDoes everyone that goes to work for the WWL (alleged) get a lobotomy ?
"Middle Tennessee can get some orange slices at the half and regroup." Danny Kanell on the Clemson game
ReplyDeleteThose BYU cheerleaders were a little disappointing
ReplyDelete"That's why they call it Labor Day partner. Two games in three days."-Nessler
ReplyDelete@jgreul, did you expect anything different? They are from BYU.
What d'ya say Kenny (cues music) - Brad Nessler
ReplyDelete@49er16 7:46
ReplyDeleteYou figure the good wholesome life at BYU would produce better results
Coming up later on ESPN2:
ReplyDeleteMaryland Terrapins Inconsistency Tour 2009 watch them beat ranked Cal this week, lose to I-AA James Madison next week.
/Bitter Twerps fan
// may begin snickering now
@jgreul, I'm a Cal fan and this game scares the s&^%t out of me. Cal is prone to losing these type of games. See: Last year's Cal-Maryland game.
ReplyDelete@49er16
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid too, based on how MD played last year.
In Louisville, we get the Louisville vs. Indiana State game. The Bama - Va Tech game is on an alternate channel in STANDARD DEF!!!!!!! Dear Lord strike the program director down with scurvy, dandruff and ingrown toe nails.
ReplyDeleteSomeone posted about the Georgia/OK State game, and how the announcer/score bug was wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt said, What happened next was almost funny: Typically dull McDonough introdced himself, Matt Millen, and Holly Rowe. The Graphic at the top (below the score bug this time) read: SEAN MCDONOUGH MIKE MILLEN
"That's the yellow line. You wanna stay above that baby or else you're not gonna be in the chase." - Brad Nessler as they showed NASCAR standings after a promo.
ReplyDeleteWell off to go watch my Twerps begin the march to Boise for 2nd year in a row. Nothing says winning football like a bowl game in Boise !
ReplyDelete"hate to state obvious that's classic Beamer Ball there" - Herbstreit after VT returns kick for TD.
ReplyDeleteLittle early for cliche handbook. Go back to your hotel room and the Coach Sweater Vest shrine you have set up.
This ESPN360 telecast is kind of biased toward Middle Tennessee, as they say Clemson was overmatched during this 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteMT-Clemson announcer: "The fans have been enjoying the fruits of their lavour (he meant labor)."
ReplyDelete"Oklahoma tried to come with a little pressure." - Todd Blackledge
ReplyDeletePaul Maguire thinks its 380 miles from Chapel Hill to Charleston. It's actually 307 miles driving, and just 221 as the crow flies.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI talked to my mother in Minnesota and she said they better not watch this game because they're going to want a new stadium for the Vikings, and us taxpayers are going to pay as we built a stadium for the Twins, and a stadium for the Gophers and we have no more money for a new stadium - Brad Nessler
ReplyDeleteSuprised we havent had taste of the town yet, I wonder if ESPN dumped the segment.
ReplyDelete"I love seeing receivers using their hands to make the catch."-Herbstreit
ReplyDeleteUm, what?
80,000 of our friends took a deep breath there. Nessler
ReplyDeleteUh is the crowd your friend Brad?
"I'm Mark Jones along with Bob Davie. I'm in the booth." - Mark Jones
ReplyDelete"The reaction from Max Hall. I think he said, 'Oh, my gosh,' or, whatever they say in Provo." -- Brad Nessler
ReplyDelete"Wang blew him out of there." - Brent Musburger
ReplyDeleteUSA beat El Salvador 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile...Mark Jones is a terrible announcer.
"Banging down close to the 1st down." - Terry Gannon
ReplyDeleteThe Huskies aren't embarrassing!!
ReplyDeleteBut more Davie Jones' locker.
Wow....the camera was on Davie and he side-stepped so that he became half out of the picture and half in it.
ReplyDeleteEarly season jitters I'm not catching Jones' quotes as well as I should.
ReplyDeleteTerrible play Locker...what the heck you telegraphed it!!
ReplyDelete"Patrick Patterson with the tackle." - Mark Jones on Patrick PETERSON's tackle.
ReplyDelete"Bouncebackability of Jake Locker." - Davie
"If he was left-handed.....wearing orange and blue.....is that Tim Tebow?" - Bob Davie on that incredible play by Locker.
ReplyDeleteAnd he also brought up Favre! DRINK!
"That's an extended yawn right there." - Davie on the woman yawning in the crowd
ReplyDelete"How can you yawn with all that's going on?" - Mark Jones on a yawning fan.
ReplyDelete"That's an extended yawn as well." - Bob Davie
"That can put them in a position to beat the Beavers." - David Norrie
ReplyDeleteApparently facing the Huskies is a daunting task for LSU according to Mark Jones.
ReplyDelete"They win a lot of beauty contests with the way they look in their uniforms." - Mark Jones talking about the Huskies
ReplyDelete"He kicked that one to British Columbia."-Davie
ReplyDeleteSaid during the OU/BYU game
ReplyDeleteOU can win out and still be in the BCS Championship game.... how the fuck is this possible.
USC would have to lose 2
Texas would have to lose 2 (including OU)
Florida would have to lose 2
See where I am going... WWL my left fucking nut
Thank you Reese Davis. I didn't need to see that LSU touchdown.
ReplyDeleteESPN just barely got back from Rece Davis to witness a TD from LSU!
ReplyDeleteBTW I wonder if ESPN canned Taste of the Town tonight or are they waiting until Monday to debut it.
ReplyDeleteI cannot stand Mark Jones. End this insanity.
ReplyDeleteYou can be glad SS that Mark Jones will be calling the USC Ohio St game for ESPN 3D next week.
ReplyDelete"They got a bit more giddyup in their gallop right now." - Mark Jones on Washington's play
ReplyDeleteFrom a few minutes ago:
ReplyDelete""Jake Locker is part of Davie Jones Locker. thats a once in a lifetime play on words, folks" - Mark Jones
I say Jones wins the Pammies this year.
No doubt unless we get Drunk degenerate Brent again.
ReplyDeleteThis one was from Thursday night but it's got to be a candidate to win the week:
ReplyDelete"Can blueturf cause insomnia, because Oregon is sure sleepwalking" - Bob Davie msking no sense and confusing his medical terms in the process.
"Remember you can't spell touchdown, or Tolliver, without the T." - Mark Jones
ReplyDeleteGeez. Thanks Captain Obvious!
I don't care how many times Mark Jones is going to claim that Trindon Holliday was a WR last year: it's never going to be true.
ReplyDelete"They have LSU and USC in their 1st 3 weeks. They need to schedule easier at the beginning of the year." - Bob Davie forgetting that LSU and USC are in the same conference.
ReplyDelete"They keep coming hard, those defensive linemen, don't they?" - Bob Davie
I wish Mark Jones would quit threatening us with a discussion of the 20 hour rule.
ReplyDeleteDid Mark Jones just claim that Atlanta was "south of the border"? I think he did!
ReplyDelete"His first season was Katrina." - Bob Davie talking about Les Miles
ReplyDeleteUgh.
not announcing but a little problem with graphics:
ReplyDeleteon the Arkansas local coverage vs. Missouri State (seen on Game PLan)...
after the first Hogs score, an on-screen graphic came up "FALCONS TOUCHDOWN!"...then it corrected itself with "CARDINALS TOUCHDOWN!"....never did see a graphic for "RAZORBACKS TOUCHDOWN!" I guess they gave up.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMark Jones: "The Tigers, like George and Weezy and Jefferson, moving on up!" (referencing the Jeffersons, from Scotty05)
ReplyDeleteBob Davie: "You know next week, Idaho comes in here, and it may be the biggest game of the year for this Washington football team."
ReplyDeleteThey have USC at home!
Whoever said theres no way Oklahoma can make the championship game now unless teams like florida, texas, etc lose two... not really sure thats true. theyre prob only going to fall to 10th or so....if oklahoma wins out that would include a win over texas, if they all have one loss you could easily make a case for ok being in there, depending on how it ends up
ReplyDeleteJoe Tessitore: "You've ever been to the king's pad?" Talking about Graceland.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Neal in Grambling-SC State game: "No more timeouts for Grambling State Universities."
ReplyDeleteDavie Jones (don't know which idiot) commented on a camera shot of Interstate 5 and said "I don't know if that's northbound or southbound".
ReplyDeleteIf only there were a clue--like cars going in both directions.
They also announced that "Cutera" returned an interception for a touchdown.
Joel Meyers Colorado State hasnt won in this ballpark in 23 years. huh? Is Folsom Field a ballpark?
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA Dave Lapham on the Colorado-Colorado State game at 9:06 CT
ReplyDelete"You know, I'm wondering here guys if Dan Hawkins always has junk in the trunk as he says, of plays, is this a time to bring out some magic plays?"
"Jailbait screen". He immediately corrected it to "jailbreak screen", but I heard "jailbait" at first. I'm pretty sure it was Rod Gilmore during the Mississippi @ Memphis game, but I watched so many games this weekend that I don't want to swear to it.
ReplyDeleteThe Defense has to believe you are going to run it or throw it on first down.-Brian Griese Cincinnati-Rutgers
ReplyDelete"If you win this game, you get the upper hand in the recruiting in the hotbed of Florida." -Mark May, about the Miami-FSU game
ReplyDeleteDoes Florida still play in Florida?
The Announcers are talking while the national anthem is played isnt that disrespectful.
ReplyDeleteBrad Nessler: "The tight end gets used around here (Florida State) about as much as the guy selling snocones at the North Pole."
ReplyDelete"Will you quit talking about people? Every time you do, this happens." -- Brad Nessler to Todd Blackledge, following a Miami injury
ReplyDeleteOn the Thursday NCSU-South Carolina game, either Palmer or James said, "It's like the game 'Find Waldo.'"
ReplyDeleteThe book "Where's Waldo" - neither a game, nor used the word find.
