Jay Mariotti Really Wants Ozzie Guillen Fired

I do my best to avoid all things Mariotti, but lately I've been reading a piece here and there. I know I shouldn't but White Sox fans keep dropping them in the inbox and complaining about them. Mariotti's latest effort is really no different than in year's past. It's his latest "Fire Ozzie" article and he seems to be finally fed up with the Sox manager.....
"I'm sick and tired to watch this thing for a year and a half," Guillen said in his latest rant, this one aimed at Williams.

The feeling is mutual, Ozzie. We are sick and tired of you. When you're in last place, you're miserable. When you're in first place, you're miserable. When you go out for a beer, you say you're miserable because you're afraid the guy next to you will yap that he got drunk with Ozzie, as you said last month. You are trapped inside this creepy character you've created. Whatever charm that may have been attached to the Blizzard three years ago, when the Sox somehow won a World Series, has been replaced by a reality that glory isn't worth the price of dealing with a madman.
The question I'm asking you today is that while Ozzie is far from a saint, does the majority of White Sox Nation want him fired? Mariotti writes this same column every year and puts "we" in just about all of them. For a guy who hates everyone in his city and everyone seems to hate him....he speaks for a lot of fans with these statements. I mean Ozzie won the city a World Series just three years ago, and I'm amazed that fans would want him fired. It's unfortunate they no longer allow comments on Mariotti's articles, and I'm amazed that he's not the who's been axed because of his personal vendetta against Guillen.

Time to fire Guillen, put him out of misery (Chicago Sun Times)

  1. What do you expect? This "f@ggot" graduated from Ohio University.

I will always side with a crazy person over Jay Mariotti.

  2. I am not from Chicago, so I can't speak for the Southsiders, but if I had to venture a guess, there is no way a fan base that prides itself on it's blue-collar, hard-nosed lifestyles wants Ozzie out. He is the epitomy of a Southsider...loud and proud and willing to speak his mind no matter what, when, who, where. I think the only Chicagoans that want him gone are the Northsiders (plus JM) who think Ozzie and the Sox are stealing the Cubs' thunder.

  3. Of course Sox fans don't want Ozzie fired. Mariotti speaking for Sox fans is like Lance Bass speaking on the goodness of poon.

  5. Northsiders dont care what Ozzie does, and southsiders are not calling for his head (yet)...

    Ozzie being Ozzie
    Jay Being Jay

    Both are true

  7. The only person Sox fans want fired is Mariotti. He is constantly urinating on the Sox parade, to what end, no one is sure. One thing is for sure, he hates the White Sox with a capital "H"

  8. This is like asking Dick Morris what he really thinks about the Clintons.

Marriotti has as much contempt for the White Sox almost more than his contempt for the Tribune ownership of the Cubs. Translation: A lot of hatin' going on.

  9. I'm a White Sox fan from Chicago and I want Ozzie to go away. I don't want him fired (4 years left), but I want him to go away. I can't think of anything he brings to the table that's positive from a White Sox fan's perspective.

Also, I want Jay Mariotti to get kidnapped and tortured.

  10. I love Jay. He says it like it is. Ozzie is a joke. So is the Sox offense this year.

  11. As a Sox fan I luve Ozzie. He deflects the criticism from fans and media to everywhere else but the players. Look at what we are talking about right now, not that this team cannot hit but rather we are talking about Ozzie's insanity.

Ozzie is with this team till at least 2012 unless he makes some insanely racist comment or something.

As for Marrioti, does he even still write in Chicago? Isn't the Sun-Times going to be bankrupt in like six months? Where would he go then?

  12. I'm a Cubs fan and I don't even want him fired. The guy provides some top notch sound bytes.

  13. Normally I disagree with everything this tool says, but in this instance he is right. Ozzie does complain about everything, no matter what the situation, and to me his act has just gotten old and tired.

It's one thing to rant and call people out when your team sucks like Jim Leyland does, but when you're in first place?!

He's turning the Southside in the Ozzie Show, regardless if the situation warrants it or not. Ax the clown.

  15. You're given a forum to say what you want and that's what you go with wrigleyville? Nicely done.

  19. Hahaha I knew this was going to get out of hand ahead of time. Same thing happened with the Sox Fans-Cubs Fans video a year or so ago.

Also, questioning Ken Williams' moves isn't really out of the question. Aaron Rowand is batting ridiculous and how is the Cabrera thing working out (Jon Garland is pitching well for the Angels)?

It's just interesting that a paper finds a writer so appealing, but the fanbase (and the nation as a whole) can't stand him.

  20. Thanks for reading.

  21. Cabrera thing working out? What about the great Nick Swisher who was going to hit 30+ HR's at the Cell?

But lets give Kenny a ton of credit for his deals for Linebrink, Dotel, Floyd, and Quentin. And Alexis Ramirez is looking rather good too.

And I could be wrong but I think Ozzie is just playing with the media. And the Chicago media is LUVING it.

  22. Who do you think the people of Chicago want gone more? Ozzie, an abrasive manager who won a world series a few years ago, has his team in first place, and actually shows emotion about his job (which shows most he actually cares?), or jackoff Mariotti, a 'writer' with no discernable talent other than to be as annoying as possible?

I'm guessing most Chigoans (Chicagoites?) would rather keep Guillen and ax that fool Jay.
