SS Reporters did some sleuthing and came up with the Announcing Schedule for the first seven days of Euro 2008. Euro 2008 ESPN Assignments (SS Reporters)
I'm looking forward to the Adrian Healey-Andy Gray pairing. Should be great stuff.
ReplyDeleteLooks good thus far. Let's hope for a fun tournament.
ReplyDeleteWhy ESPN Classic? Most of the cable line ups don't carry them... :(
ReplyDeleteAndy Gray's a decent ringer: he has a fat contract with Sky in the UK, but since the Euro 2008 rights are with the terrestrial broadcasters (BBC/ITV) he'd be twiddling his thumbs otherwise. He's a good choice, but Julie Foudy's going to feel like it's the boys' club with him around.
ReplyDeleteMustoe's still finding his feet in the booth -- I remember him as a player, and his day job is as a BU assistant coach -- and he appears to be getting the odd match that Gray takes a pass on.
Best bit of ESPN's coverage so far: a little more halftime and post-match analysis. If you watch coverage in Europe, even on the commercial networks, there's a lot more replay-analysis stuff.
