The replays look pretty intense, and the analysis Collinsworth is giving during them is top notch, but Tom Hammond sound like he's bored out of his mind. Hopefully it was this clip but he sounds like a robot. I'm not sure if this is telling to who the NFL Network is going to go with next season, but it's probably a good indicator.
Madden 09 Has Some Issues (Like Making Tom Hammond a Robot) (SS Reporters)
I blame a lack of Tom Hammond for Big Brown's collapse.
ReplyDeleteI think this is Tom's first time recording script for a video game, so some slack is needed. It's certainly not an easy job.
ReplyDeleteMuch as I hate to say it, Cris sounds solid on the video game. If only he was this bearable during games...
Wow, that was awful. Hammond was absolutely pathetic, just like in real life. Collinsworth was decent but nothing special.
ReplyDeleteShould be Summerall
ReplyDeleteYeah Hammond sounds like he's doing "Sports Talk Baseball" from 1991.
ReplyDeleteCollinsworth sounds good, and the replays are neat, but I bet that they get old really fast.
That 51% success rate stuff reminds me of Tecmo Bowl. I bet any play that's Montana-to-Rice gets a 95% success rate or better.
I always thought that Al Michaels was really robotic on the video games. Maybe EA Sports wants their Madden play-by-play announcers to show no enthusiasm for some odd reason. On the plus side, Cris Collinsworth sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteMy problem isn't with Hammonds at all. Collinsworth? Who the hell dropped the ball on that one. Collinsworth has never been objective when calling a game. He's annoying and ignorant. Even if the voice track sounds good. Biggest Douche on the planet. I'd rather have Madden back. At least he doesn't have to "prove" that he's annoying.
