Floyd Mayweather made the rounds on ESPN the other day, and after taking on an anchor over at ESPN News, the fighter decided to take on Sports Center's Brian Kenny. Kenny, as we know, rarely backs down from a debate, and here was the very contentious exchange...
The weird thing is, that was the exact same argument he made on ESPN News earlier in the day. The other weird thing is that Mayweather is completely and utterly crazy on so many levels. Brian Kenny never fails to make me laugh as well.
Glad to hear that there are others who think he kicks ass. Hopefully his star will continue to shine at ESPN and he'll get higher profile gigs.
Wouldn't it be great if he had Mortensen on as a guest and hammered him about all the mistakes over the years? It will never happen but one can dare to dream, right?

Brian Kenny used to challenge the loose-brained nonsense Beano Cook would spew on the late College Football Scoreboard show in the late '90s, until he was replaced on the show by Rece Davis. Nothing was better than Cook & Kenny arguing about Notre Dame's "material" ten hours past Beano's bedtime.
Brian Kenny is 100% awesome, and one of the best things on ESPN even if he is a homer for the Yanks. His arguments with Steve Phillips are hilarious too.
Brian Kenny is doing what a JOURNALIST is supposed to do. Challenge the person you are interviewing, don't just sit there while they spew "talking points".
God, do we ever need more like him on shows like "Meet the Press", etc.
I love Kenney. So many other reporters talk crap about athletes, then kiss their ass when they interview them. Kenney pulls no punches. These boxers are hilarious. They are delusional most of the time. Must go with the profession.
lol...Remember Boxing is a business like anything else..Sometimes the fight we all want to see never happens. Kudos for Kenny for asking the questions...
AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteBest and worst interview ever.
ReplyDeleteI miss Max screw Colin
ReplyDeleteI might be in the minority, but I like Kenney. The guy digs his heels in and stands his ground.
ReplyDeleteHis ESPN radio show is pretty good too...a definite improvement over some of the other fence sitters (Yes, I'm talking about you Mike Tirico).
Nothing beats Kenny's Log-In's!
ReplyDeleteKenney doesn't give a fuck, that's refreshing.
ReplyDeleteBerman would be crying and sucking Floyd's ass.
Did he actually say Linda Ellerbee is his advisor? Good Lord.
You are not in the minority. Brian Kenny kicks ass.

Brian Kenny is a disaster in every sense of the word talking about everything other than boxing.
