It's Been A Tough Week For SVP

Friday, February 26, 2010

A few days ago, Scott Van Pelt got prank called by a Howard Stern staple Captain Janks, but apparently that was just the start to his week. Late last night, the Sports Center anchor added to his woes by dropping an F-bomb when he thought his mic was off....

Those apologies always seem so awkward to me. I understand they have to be done, but it's f**king one o'clock in the morning! If someone watching at that hour gets offended....f**k em.

ESPN's Scott Van Pelt Drops F-Bomb (Only Gators)

So the SVP f-bomb gets posted right away but the Tony Kornheiser suspension still has not appeared on this website. Yup, I think I'm done coming here.

Who cares that SVP dropped the f-bomb? He is one of the best anchors that that program has. And ESPN will never fire him because of his close relationship with Tiger Woods. Now more than ever, SVP is needed on Sportscenter.

Best Anchors on SC:

1. Neil Everett
2. SVP
3. Steve Levy
4. Steve Berthuiame
5. John Anderson

The apology is just a cover for any potential FCC violation.

I'm not offended in the slightest...really.

HOWEVER - here's an idea. Your JOB is to speak into an often open microphone. How about you train yourself to not swear in any way WHENEVER YOUR AT THE DESK.

It would avoid me having to listen to lame (and fake) apologies that are for show (or the FCC).

Please CC this comment to Danyelle Sargent when you get a chance.

therod: AA would've had round-the-clock coverage of Kornhole-Storm had Dana Jacobsen been involved somehow.

I don't think Tony needs to be commented on, enough has been said already. Although you have to love his apology, which sounded more like "ESPN is making me do this, but I'm going to do it again and you can't do anything about it." MNF will also never be the same.

That can't be true or channels like Comedy Central would flood the airwaves with "f" words.

Not that I would mind. I hate that damn bleeping sound.
