Saturday Night Live had their season finale last night, and mixed in among the Will Ferrell favorites was a hilarious sketch involving TNT Basketball. The sketch show mocked the advertisements on Inside The NBA for other TNT shows, with a show called "Mark", and here's the hilarious video....

I still think "40 Days in 40 Nights" is a huge undertaking, and one of the best produced Sports programs, but those ads do get pretty annoying. Very funny. Oh and Ferrell also did another Harry Caray impression on Weekend Update that you should check out, when they put it up on Hulu.

Comedian Artie Lange was on Letterman the other night, and for some reason unbeknownst to me, decided to share a handful of stories on a pair of Baseball announcers. The first is a tale of Bob Uecker's use of the "cough button", and the second is about the drinking habits of Harry Caray. Via NQTC....

That's a pretty strong Caray to tell you the truth. I also always wondered about some of the more creative ways to use the cough button. Good stuff.

That title is coming across a little harsher than I wanted it to, but it's up there so we're going with it. NBC released their commercial promoting the Winter Classic (you know the outdoor Hockey game on New Years Day), and not only is there a cheap Harry Caray knock off, but a voice-over cameo from Bob Costas! Again, the title was a little bit much because I did actually enjoy it, and the game itself is awesome. Hopefully it will be snowing again this year, because last year's action in the flakes was just too much fun.

Update: Okay so forget everything I said about that person imitating Harry Caray. Apparently Caray doesn't do that good of an impression of himself. Oh and....my bad....

The Baseball community lost a good one yesterday as Braves announcer, and son of the legendary Harry Caray, Skip Caray passed away Sunday afternoon....

ATLANTA -- The Braves family lost one of its most beloved members on Sunday, when Skip Caray passed away at his Atlanta-area home.

Caray, who would have celebrated his 69th birthday on Aug. 12, went to take a nap Sunday afternoon and didn't awaken. He is survived by his wife, Paula, two sons, Chip and Josh, two daughters, Shayelyn and Cindy, and seven grandchildren.

"Our baseball community has lost a legend today," said Braves president John Schuerholz. "The Braves family and Braves fans everywhere will sadly miss him. Our thoughts are with his wife Paula and his children."

"I'm just in shock," Chip [Caray] said. "I know he wasn't feeling good, but this was unexpected. He hung the moon for me. I got to talk to him [on Saturday], and the last thing I got to say to him was, 'I love you.'"

I grew up watching Braves games on TBS and he was always one of the guys I enjoyed listening to. While it's always sad to lose someone of Skip's stature and talent, it's good to know that he went peacefully and that his son got to say he loved him.

I guess if someone decided to do an impersonation of one of my loved ones who passed away I might be a little ticked off as well. AT&T has been airing commercials in the Chicago area with Caray's likeness and Dutchie Caray is none to happy....

Dutchie Caray is furious with AT&T over television commercials featuring comic John Caponera pitching cable TV while impersonating the late Harry Caray.

"I just get shivers when I even think about it," she told WGN-Ch. 9 on Monday morning.

"I was gone the whole month of March and I didn't come back until a couple of days ago. ... It made me so sick and disgusted. ... What they did [was] so unprofessional, so jerky. ... I might make an AT&T commercial, wrap myself in telephone wire, ughl-ughl-ughl and act like an idiot dope."

You have to see the video on this because I love the telephone wire part. In other news the impressionist was pretty spot on with his take on Caray....

I missed this item when it came out on Friday, but if you're in the Chicagoland area and you're near a TV....turn it to Comcast. Today is the 10th Anniversary of Harry Caray's passing and while it's sad to think that the loveable announcer is still gone, it's a great move by Comcast to air an entire day of programming on him...

To honor Harry Caray 10 years after his passing, Comcast SportsNet will be devoting nearly 12 hours of programming to the legendary baseball broadcaster Monday.

Starting at 11 a.m. with the 2007 documentary "Hello Again, Everybody: The Harry Caray Story," the daylong tribute will include rebroadcasts of three classic Cubs games and other highlights of his career.

At 7 p.m., an all-new special, "Holy Cow: Remembering Harry," will premiere. Some live programming will originate from Harry Caray's Restaurant, 33 W. Kinzie.

I wish it was on WGN so I could check it out, but alas...no such luck. I spent countless days of my youth watching the Cubs getting blown out just to hear what Harry was going to say next. In memory of Mr. Caray this is my personal favorite YouTube clip from him....damn Crackerjacks and their gimmicks!
