Your Week Two NFL Announcing Schedule And Maps

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Again, all of the credit goes to The 506 for the maps. Each week they put them together and the timing this week was perfect so I could get them up in conjunction with the announcers. It's like two....TWO....posts in one! A few thoughts. How crappy are FOX's games this week that their top team has to go to St. Louis? I guess FOX is making Buck and Aikman follow the 'Boys around this season, and come to think of it, I'm pretty sure they called that same game last year as well. On the other hand, CBS has a ton of good games which is good since they're going to be without Farve for the next few weeks.

Here they are for your perusal, and remember you can click on them for the larger view....

FOX:

RED: NY Giants at St. Louis (1pm) - Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
GREEN: New Orleans at Washington (1pm) - Dick Stockton, Brian Baldinger, Brian Billick
ORANGE: Chicago at Carolina (1pm) - Sam Rosen, Tim Ryan
YELLOW: Green Bay at Detroit (1pm) - Matt Vasgersian, J.C. Pearson

BLUE: San Francisco at Seattle (4pm) - Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnson, Tony Siragusa
PURPLE: Atlanta at Tampa Bay (4pm) - Ron Pitts, Tony Boselli

CBS 1pm:

RED: Indianapolis at Minnesota - Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
BLUE: Oakland at Kansas City - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
GREEN: Buffalo at Jacksonville - Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker
ORANGE: Tennessee at Cincinnati - Don Criqui, Dan Fouts

CBS 4pm:

RED:
New England @ NY Jets - Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
BLUE: San Diego @ Denver - Dick Enberg, Randy Cross
GREEN: Baltimore @ Houston - Ian Eagle, Solomon Wilcots
ORANGE: Miami @ Arizona - Bill Macatee, Steve Beuerlein

I'm a little surprised Baton Rouge isn't getting Oak/KC (JaMarcus vs. Dwayne Bowe/Glenn Dorsey). Then again, half the city STILL doesn't have power so I guess it's a moot point.

Sorry about that...fixed.

Word is the Lions game is 4000 tickets short of selling out. Could have a blackout on our hands.

Just because I live in Ohio doesn't mean that I deserve to be punished with the Rams.

To be fair, half of America is being punished by being forced to watch the awful Rams.

Why is fox's # 2 team being saddled with a dog game in Seattle, when The Panthers Bears game wil be much better!

Half of America is being rewarded by getting to see Big Blue.

Why is Fox's #1 team being saddled with a dog game in St. Louis, when the Panthers-Bears game should be much better? Are they trying to save money by letting Joe Buck stay at home in St. Louis and not having to pay for a hotel or airfare?

CBS owns FOX this week. It should be a REALLY tough decision for we Utahns. Should we watch Giants/Rams or Vikes/Colts in the early window. Anyone who chooses the former should have his/her fanhood revoked and be mocked in the public square. Hopefully, the Broncos smoke the Chargers in the late window!

Sigh. Bear fans get to suffer through Tim Ryan. At least his pinkie doesn't look like a cock.

Someone please inform me why I care about SF/SEA when I live in Indianapolis? Bears/Carolina, anyone?? WTF?

Hey, that Rams game last week was very entertaining!

Eagles are on MNF, so that means that we have to suffer through Tony Kornheiser (our cheesesteaks are better than Dallas' cheesesteaks). As far as this week goes, I'm just glad that I get the Colts-Vikings game. That should be the game of the week.

Gah, the Pac NW continues to get the shaft on regional coverage. Are you serious, SF vs. SEA? Why does the network assume that people would rather watch two sucky-but-geographically-close teams rather than two, you know, GOOD teams?

I get damn tired of living in Utah and being treated to Seattle or SF. Jeebus.

Give me some Packers. Please.

Unless those 3000 tickets are scooped up by some car dealership, I'm gonna miss out on Week 2 of the 8 week series of the "Matty V & Babyface Edmonds Show" doing Lions games.

Colts are in an early game, which means Fox59/Indy airs a late game. Chargers are in a late game, which means Fox 5 San Diego airs an early game.

Ravens-Texans has been postponed to Monday night because of Hurricane Ike. CBS stations in Baltimore, Houston and respective secondary markets will air the game.

On the CBS late-game map, expect the green areas to receive Patriots-Jets.
