Sidney Crosby Dooms Penguins In Stanley Cup Finals

Everyone in and around the World of Hockey knows that you absolutely DO NOT touch the trophies after winning the Conference Championship. Well yesterday, following the Penguins sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes, Sidney Crosby did the unthinkable by picking up the Prince of Wales Trophy and skated it over to his teammates. Here's the clip....

I'm just as superstitious as the next person, but when you are looking at facing the Red Wings in the Finals for a second year in a row, you mind as well try something different. In fact, that's exactly why Crosby said he touched it.

  1. If you read what Crosby said, it makes perfect sense to touch it? Why not? Didn't work last year.

Also, after the Pens reached the Stanley Cup the first time in 1991, Mario Lemieux lifted it up and skated around the rink with it. Pens beat Minnesota in 6 that year.

Just because it's a superstition doesn't mean it's not stupid.

  2. Is it really a curse when it hasn't been a problem 4 times in the past???

  3. Sidney Crosby is finally ready to join Mario Lemieux as the latest Pittsburgh champion. I see nothing wrong with this. Perhaps AA is still mad that his beloved Caps got clipped by the Pens in the previous round.
