Red Sox Fans Have Officially Lost It
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
I can't believe that the local Boston news spent 10 seconds on this (nevermind two full minutes), but via With Leather comes the story of a couple of Red Sox fans getting their kid baptized at Fenway....
Just weird. I can't believe someone hasn't though of this sooner though. The best part was that the couple drove up from Florida. Are you kidding me?! Also, if this kid becomes a Boston area announcer sometime in the next 30 years....he's never going to hear the end of this. Remember the name Ryan Rodgers.
Wasn't This A Scene In Devil's Advocate? (With Leather)

philip, please do not ever speak on behalf of Red Sox Nation again.
What is more ridiculous....The fact that these idiots did this or the fact that they covered it on the local news.
I love the father saying "We were looking for a place to have the baptism. What better place than the cathedral of sports?" How about a church, you clown?
Cathedral of sports? Normally people don't scream racist remarks and death threats in a church. But the man/boy sodomy is likely the same.
You guys a friggin hilarious. What's wrong with mixing faith and fun? Nothing. Why not,..everyone only lives once so I don't see why everyone gets all up in arms about this. I wanted to have the baptism outside of the church just to be different. God only knows how I talked my wife into it. We are from MA by the way and are living in FL right now. and to answer Philip this baptism is also recognized in the Catholic church.
On behalf of Red Sox Nation, let me say two things:
1) They are crazy because they are from Florida. Florida, that's all that needs to be said about crazy.
2) It's not legit, it wasn't a catholic baptism. I'm not saying it wasn't real and that the baby isn't going to heaven, it's just that had they been from boston and not florida then there would be a 75% or greater chance they were catholic and that would have made things different. Because they would have been able to get the Bishop to do it. ;)
