The NFL Draft Has Officially Jumped The Shark

I don't know if it's ESPN's terrible Day One coverage, the length of the thing or the lack of suspense during picks, but I think the NFL Draft is now officially unwatchable. Hour after hour, it's picks being ruined by ESPN or the NFL Network showing kids getting calls on their cell phone, and analysts making up ridiculous phrases to describe said draft picks. I mean, Steve Young described Mark Sanchez as "Presidential". What the hell does that even mean?
This year was also marred by the Erin Andrews "green room" experiment. While I understand the need for interviews, you really didn't need to send her to New Jersey on Day Two, to talk to the Cosbys....
That was fun right? Especially considering Quan Cosby didn't even get drafted! I know see the difference between having someone like Suzy Kolber asking picks about their workout regiment, and Erin Andrews asking Michael Crabtree about how many texts he's received.
I know I'm going to continue to watch the Draft, but I might just stick to Day Two from here on out.

Haters in the house.
I watched about 30 minutes of the Draft total this weekend, and turned off by ESPN's talking heads constantly talking over each other. On top of that the five hour pregame show? Talk about over exposure. ESPN could use a makeover for future years, which would include phasing out Berman in favor of Wingo or Trico.
That's nothing. The local TV station that's in bed with the Broncos said it would break into programming when the Broncos did something ... even the one-sided Rockies game yesterday was better than that.
I loved Jaws constantly talking about Brian Hoyer being this great prospect eventhough if you watched any MSU game this year, he was awful. What was the point of putting cameras in his house anyway?
The Draft will never jump the shark as long as Al Davis is making personnel decisions.
I personally hate Day 2 more than Day 1.
Day 2 there are constantly picks being made, and rather than hear any sort of insight or analysis we just get the same exact conversations from Day 1 about who was taken in the first round.
kinda feel bad for Bill Cosby...took time out of his life to prop up a kid who wasn't even drafted...i would've knocked that kid in the teeth
C'mon, Herm Edwards actually said that Darius Heyward-Bey was a great pick...that was a great moment in sports journalism...
William, that probably says all you need to know about the raiders and herm. It is a shame that Matt Millan wasn't part of the draft coverage. He could have give advice about how to constantly screw up picks.
ESPN is "the worldwide leader", and yet they couldn't find a couch that could comfortably fit three people?
It wasn't on an ESPN set, you twat. It was backstage at some theater Bill Cosby was performing at in NJ.
Stop blaming ESPN for every little thing.
