1-AA Football Gets Extra Cursy
Monday, November 09, 2009
Yes I know that it's no longer called 1-AA Football, but the whole FCS thing just doesn't sound right. Anyway, there's a big manhunt by the CAA today to figure which member of the production crew decided to throw out a giant f-bomb following #1 Richmond's loss to Villanova (NSFW)....
Awesome! The announcers were Bob Picozzi and Scott Brunner, but they've already been ruled out. So that leaves one production guy that obviously had some money on the game.
The FCS Is Not For The Faint Of Heart

JMU Football already completed one of the most improbable comebacks earlier in the year with a wild finish against Richmond, but this takes the moniker of "Cardiac Kids" to a whole 'nother level. JMU was down five to Villanova, and after a 3rd down stop with a minute left in the game, they got the ball back with about a minute on the clock and one timeout. After a huge first down on a 4th and long, and a few spikes, they tried for a hail mary instead of a long field goal into the wind. That was seemingly a good idea....
Obviously part of the reason that I posted this is because JMU is my Alma Mater, but that was just an amazing ending. You can now add this game to the Dukes' list of crazy games this year which includes a 21-point comeback win against Appalachian State and the Richmond game mentioned above.
