The Orlando Sentinel set up shop at ESPN The Weekend over the past two days, and the paper ended up scoring an interview with who could be ESPN's newest analyst. That person is Brett Lorenzo Favre, and the one thing Favre isn't lacking when it comes to the TV game is confidence....

Orlando Sentinel: Warren Sapp grew up a few miles from here. He parlayed a great football career into a great TV career. Even danced on TV. There's speculation that you're here for ESPN The Weekend because you're headed for a studio job there. What's next for you?

Brett Favre: I have no idea. I've heard the same rumors. To be totally honest with you, I've had people ask me about TV and ask me about coaching. I think I'd be a good coach, but I don't want to spend the time. I think I'd be pretty decent on TV. Would I look good in a suit and tie in a formal setting? I don't think that's appropriate for me. I don't. I think people would say, "That doesn't seem right." But I won't know unless I try ... I'm willing to listen.

I guess confidence is a good thing when it comes to live television, but I think it might be harder than Brett thinks. I guess we'll find out in a month or so.

LIVE ON-SITE ESPN TELECASTS
ESPN will present live daily telecasts -- including First Take (10 a.m., ESPN2) and NFL Live (4 p.m., ESPN, Feb. 26-27 -- from a set in front of the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Sorcerer's Hat on Hollywood Blvd. Park guests will have a chance to appear on-air via crowd shots while watching the programming on in-park video screens. Popular ESPN Radio shows Mike & Mike in the Morning and The Herd with Colin Cowherd will be broadcast live from the ESPN Club at Disney’s Boardwalk on Feb. 26-27.

As Major League Baseball Spring Training games get underway in Florida, ESPN’s on-site program line-up will feature the Atlanta Braves’ home game against the Houston Astros at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex (Feb. 26, 1 p.m.). Also, Karl Ravech will host a special two-hour Baseball Tonight with analysts Peter Gammons, John Kruk, Steve Phillips and Chris Singleton from the theme park March 1 at 4 p.m. as ESPN’s popular baseball news, information and highlights show kicks off its 20th season.

INSIDE ESPN
Live stage shows will bring fans and guests behind-the-scenes of some of the network's most popular programs, including SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, First Take, NFL Live and Stump the Schwab. The shows will provide an inside look at favorite athletes, teams and ESPN programs. Fans can get into the action themselves by asking questions directly to ESPN personalities and athletes.

DREAM JOB – THE EXPERIENCE
Guests who think they have what it takes to be on SportsCenter can experience what it’s like to audition for ESPN. Select contestants will go through a series of “on-air” tasks and the audience will select the best “sportscaster” during each show. ESPN personalities and sports celebrities will help mentor contestants as part of the experience.

ESPN SPORTS ZONE INTERACTIVE AREA
The ESPN Sports Zone will give guests of all ages the opportunity to test their skills at a wide variety of sports, including biking on an X Games dirt course. MLB, NBA and NFL-themed interactive areas within the Zone will have fans swinging for the fences, shooting baskets and throwing passes, as well as Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Sports Caravan, a multi-sport interactive area. The ESPN Sports Zone will also include an ESPN Play Your Way playground. A fitness initiative launched in May 2004 to address youth obesity, Play Your Way was designed by Team ESPN, the corporate outreach program for ESPN, Inc., to inspire kids 7-12 years old to use their imagination and create their own physically active games.

There was a whole mess of stories following the Mitchell Report regarding Roger Clemens and ESPN's trip to Orlando at the end of February. The two most prominent were the Network saying they were pulling his commercial for ESPN the Weekend (which I don't think they ever did) and then two weeks ago both parties decided the trip was still on.

Well now Clemens is backing out of the event and has issued a statement regarding the decision....

“I had been looking forward to ESPN The Weekend. Given some strong feelings in some circles today, I believe my current participation could be a distraction,” Clemens stated. “The event should be an occasion for fun by all and I want that to be the case for everyone involved. So I will not be coming at this point in time but I look forward to participating in some future event.”

According to the Orlando Sentinel that leaves the likes of Donovan McNabb, Dwight Howard, Brandon Jacobs, Amani Toomer, Cal Ripken, Martina Navratilova, and ESPN's Jay Crawford, Peter Gammons, Mike Golic and Jemele Hill.

ESPN the Weekend is always a watershed moment in the year for the Leader. As cheesy as the idea seems, the event is pretty packed with stars and it gives fans a ton of access to their idols. Roger Clemens was scheduled to attend the event, but all signs pointed to him skipping out on the weekend. Well that's not the case at all. Roger will be there front and center.....

Even as the controversy surrounding Roger Clemens intensifies, the pitcher plans to attend an ESPN-sponsored event at Disney World later this month. Representatives for Clemens late last week informed ESPN that he will stick to his scheduled promotional appearance over the weekend of Feb. 29-March 2.

Clemens was scheduled to serve as a top draw at "ESPN The Weekend" before the Mitchell Report was released in December that alleged he had used steroids multiple times--and the network began running an on-air spot promoting it. But the day the report came out, ESPN pulled the humorous ad, citing Clemens' role in a controversial news story.

"Each decision was an independent decision and there are different factors that go into each ... in the case of him attending, we're obviously interested in having him and he's expressed that he's interested in attending," said ESPN's Josh Krulewitz, who declined to offer more details.

Nevermind the fact that ESPN is sticking with an alleged steroid user as a main draw, but isn't it odd that Clemens would even decide to attend after taking a giant beating from the "Leader's" reporters over the past month? Also, ESPN was supposed to have pulled the commercial with Clemens on the Roller Coaster, but they never actually did, and now he's still heading to Florida at the end of the month...

It's a really odd decision from both parties if you ask me.
