The Mariners Announcers Have To Get Happy About Something

The Mariners were actually in the Wild Card race at one point this season, but faded like a falling rock in the fourth quarter of the season. Which is why, Seattle's announcers Dave Niehaus and Mike Blowers decided to have some fun on Sunday. Not only did Blowers pick of Matt Tuiasosopo as player of the game pan out, but he even predicted the at-bat, count, pitch, and location of his first major league homer....
Now that is just unbelievable. The way they're giggling makes you think could be fake, but I think the reaction as the ball goes out gives it credibility. Too funny.

It's been a bit since I posted the first "MLB Homer Call of the Day", so I thought I would hit you with one on a slow day in Sports. This one comes to us from Sport South's coverage of the Braves and Nationals game.
I bring this to your attention not for the Homeristic nature of the call, but for the completely professional way that Jon Sciambi and Joe Simpson handled the worst call by an umpire well......ever.
I'm almost more shocked that they, as Braves announcers, didn't freak the hell out. Are you kidding me on that call? Unbelievable. Great work guys.

I've get the MLB package burning a hole in my pocket, so I'm going to try something new every few days or so. I'm going to give you a homer call from the local announcing teams of MLB and hopefully by the end of the year we'll have one from all 30 teams.
Today's entry: The Arizona Diamondbacks Play by Play Man Darren Sutton
It's pretty bad when your own partner (Mark Grace) calls you out for being overly demonstrative during a solo homer in the sixth. If you have an announcer you'd like me to feature just send me an email (and yes Rod Allen will be coming soon).
