Impostor Dupes Reporter For FSN Kansas City
Wednesday, May 06, 2009
You may have seen Guy Fieri on the Food Network, or those really annoying TGI Fridays commercials, but you certainly didn't see him during the Royals game the other night. FSN's Joel Goldberg thought he had an exclusive interview with the chef, but according to the KC Star, and the man himself, it was an impostor....
"So check this out, some cat is playin me in KC. Crazy, just for da record, I am home and was not in KC. Thanks to those keepin an eye out."- Guy Fieri on Twitter
In all honesty, it really looks exactly like him. There's also nothing more fun than knowing someone who looks exactly like someone else. I had a friend that was a dead ringer for Uncle Kracker, and we used to get hammered drunk and pretend we were security for him in bars and clubs. Sure duping people is wrong, but it sure is fun!

Last Day Of The MLB Regular Season!
Sunday, September 28, 2008
Hey, it's NFL Sunday, but we can't ignore baseball today because we have some DRAMA!!!! for you! The Mets are finishing up against the Marlins on TBS today (if the rain lets up), and the Brewers take on the Cubs an hour later for NL Wild Card rights (those of you with WGN on the cable or satellite or the appropriate Fox Sports channel will get to see this). Both teams wins, both teams lose, it means a play-in game.
Hopefully Oliver Perez can be as "gangsta" as Johan Santana was yesterday. LET'S GO METS!
The AL Central's a bit more complicated. Minnesota is a half game up on the White Sox, so if the Twins beat the Royals and the White Sox lose to the Indians, it's done. If both teams win or the Twins lose and the White Sox win, the South Siders host Detroit for a make-up game, which could lead to a tiebreaker game.
Treat this as your baseball open thread.

Milton Bradley Goes After A Royals Announcer
Thursday, June 12, 2008

There are a ton of stories about players getting fed up with announcers and confronting them, but I don't think I've ever heard a story of one doing so immediately following a game.
Milton Bradley stormed out of the Texas Rangers clubhouse after an 11-5 victory Wednesday night over Kansas City and bounded up four flights of stairs looking for Royals television announcer Ryan Lefebvre. So there was no incident but you wonder what Lefebvre said to set Milton off. Well I just saw the clip on Sports Center (I'll try to get the video), and it doesn't seem like all that much. Here is Lefebvre's description and it matches with what I just saw on ESPN....
Bradley, who was the designated hitter, heard what he considered derogative remarks made by Lefebvre on a TV in the Rangers clubhouse. General manager Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington were close behind and intercepted Bradley before he reached Lefebvre.
Upon returning to the clubhouse, Bradley screamed at teammates and broke down in tears.
"I'm tired of people bringing me down," Bradley said. "It wears on you. I love you guys, all you guys. I'm strong, but I'm not that strong. All I want to do is play baseball and make a better life for my kid than I had."
"It was a conversation about how Josh Hamilton has turned his life around and has been accountable for his mistakes," Lefebvre told The Associated Press. "Right now, it seems like the baseball world and fans are rooting for him. ... It doesn't seem like Milton Bradley has done the same thing in his life."I would love to know how Bradley even found out that he was being talked about and who explained what was said to him. The comments weren't necessarily great but much much worse has been said about Bradley over the years. I feel bad for the guy because of his anger issues and he needs some regular help because he obviously struggles at times with it.
It'll be interesting to see if the Royals ask for an apology from Ryan Lefebvre.
Update: TSB has the video I was referring to....

Texas Radio Hosts Mock KC Royal Alex Gordon's Wife
Tuesday, April 29, 2008

I can never get enough stories about athletes going after members of the media. Clubhouse rants like Hal McCrae's and Bobby Bonilla's provide years and years of enjoyment. Well there's now news out of Kansas City that we might be able KC Third Baseman Alex Gordon to the list soon. From the KC Star via Ben Maller....
The seemingly harmless interview took a nasty turn when Jamie [Gordon's wife- Ed Note] was asked whether she knew who Yoko Ono was. When she said she did not, someone back in the booth or at the station hit a “drop” button that spewed the words “stupid b....” over the air. The same drop button was hit again moments later after Jamie answered another question. That's pretty weak on the part of Dallas sports-talk station KTCK to not apologize directly, but I guess if you're in the business of being a Sports shock jock, you probably don't apologize often. Also, Alex Gordon is 6'1"/220lbs.....I don't know if I would mess with him.
Then later in the interview, one of the show’s hosts made crude innuendos about Jamie and Ashley, urging his interviewer to “try and get them to kiss."
Royals upper management got wind of the interview and was furious, as was Gordon. Royals vice president of communications Mike Swanson demanded an apology from the station and the hosts.
“Having to play the interview for Alex was not an enviable task,” Swanson said. “Then one of the show’s hosts told me he wouldn’t apologize directly to Alex because that was my job as a liaison. That really got me upset.”
