Carmelo's Fiancee Finally Speaks On Incident With Mavs Fans

Thursday, May 21, 2009

The motherly website, Momlogic, has an exclusive interview with Carmelo Anthony's fiancee, and for the first time she explains what set her off during Game Five of the Western Conference Finals. Not only does she claim fans yelled racial slurs at her, and the Nuggets, but they even called the couple's son a "bastard"....

"They began yelling 'F*** the Nuggets!' right in front of my son." Then she says they started calling the Nuggets players "n*****s." She was shocked. "I've been at a ton of games -- but I have NEVER heard fans say things like that." Then, looking directly at her while taunting Anthony on the court, Lala says the fans called her son a "bastard."

"I know it was directed at me. Yes, my son's dad and I are not married -- but we are engaged!" Lala turned to the fans and said, "This is just a GAME! Do you even know these players?!" She then asked her babysitter to take Kiyan out of the arena. The fans, who by this time, claims Lala, were completely intoxicated, became even "more aggressive," yelling "F*** the Nuggets!" and insulting their families -- namely, Lala says, her and Carmelo. Then they physically pushed her. Pushed to the edge, she turned around and yelled back.

TV cameras captured security guards approaching her. "They said they had seen the whole thing and told me I had done nothing wrong. I was NOT ejected, they just escorted me to a suite [for safety]. I was mad!" Mavericks owner Mark Cuban even apologized the next day for a variety of incidents that happened at the game -- including the insulting of another player's mother -- saying "This has gotten out of hand."
Usually in cases like this, both parties are to blame, but I can completely understand losing one's cool in this case. Arenas and stadiums have been getting more and more violent over the years, so hopefully this unfortunate incident leads to some stricter fan guidelines.

The Nuggets-Mavs Series Promises To End In Mayhem

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

It was hard to get a sense of the crowd during last night's Nugs-Mavs game on TNT, but thanks to a random videos, we can sort of gather that it wasn't the safest of environments. The series was already off to a bad start before the whole, Mark Cuban "thug" incident. That has seemed to send this budding rivalry into another stratosphere though, and has fostered an even bigger hatred between the two teams. A hatred that led to Carmelo's wife being kicked out the arena, and Kenyon Martin calling Cuban a "fa**ot motherf**ker", last night. The NSFW vids are from NBC LA via Fanhouse....

Well then. La La, Carmelo's wife, really looked like she was ready to throw down with those old ladies, and K-Mart did a heck of a good job talking trash while walking away from Cuban. I'm hoping that this series goes seven games, but unfortunately the Nuggets have only lost eight games at home, in both the regular season and Playoffs combined.

Someone Get Perez Hilton On The Phone Because The Mavs Locker Room Is Open To ALL Bloggers!

Friday, March 28, 2008

Just wanted to briefly touch on this because it's hilarious to me how far off the deep end that Mark Cuban has gone. Cuban took an interesting approach when dealing with Bloggers, banning them entirely from the Mavericks locker room due to space issues. This was obviously a crazy decision based on Cuban usually being on the cutting edge of Pop Culture, but he decided to take a stand.

Well the ban has been lifted (because the NBA ordered him to lift it), and you're invited to come.....all of you. From the Dallas Morning News via Truehoop....

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who contended the team's locker room was not large enough to accommodate all bloggers, accepted the league's edict but added a caveat. Via e-mail, Cuban said the Mavericks will open their locker room to all credentialed bloggers, regardless of affiliation. Mavericks credentials are issued by the team.

Cuban indicated he believes bloggers should be treated equally, regardless of affiliation.

"Which means we will encourage all bloggers to apply, whether they be someone on blogspot who has been posting for a couple weeks, kids blogging for their middle school Web site or those that work for big companies," wrote Cuban, a blogger himself. "We won't discriminate at all."

He then cautioned that locker room time, which translates to access to players, may be divided.

"We will try to work it out so that all bloggers come in as a group after credentialed media," Cuban wrote. "This will help us manage the crowds should there be quite a few bloggers."
Ah yes. There's never a dull day in the Blogosphere is there? I know a lot of Mainstreamers and Team Execs read this site so I wanted to share a story that might help you understand how to handle bloggers. Be sure to click on the Sporting News story by Eric McErlain below for the template on how to credential bloggers and the one man who did it right......three years ago!!!

Mark Cuban Likes To Hold His Rod And The Rest Of His DWTS Performance

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

I came in right at the start of this joke, but it's in reference to his newly replaced hip. His partner Kym Johnson asks him if his leg is okay and his response is, "It's okay I hold my rod all the time." You've got to give it to the guy, he's always great spirits and seems to be constantly having fun.

Not a bad performance too....especially with a bad hip....

For details on the moves (mainly his Peter Pan finishing move) head to The Sports Hernia for the photos!

P.S.- No one say crap about how I was watching Dancing With The Stars! Okay Okay.....let me have it.
