Billy Packer, Still Is Wacky As Ever
Thursday, March 12, 2009
I knew I spoke too soon yesterday, when I said that Billy Packer seemed to have graduated to a new level of analyst. While his spirits definitely seem better, and he seems to enjoy breaking down the game again, he still hasn't bought into this whole "technology" thing. Packer was on the "Best Damn Podcast" (ITunes link) yesterday, and not only did he admit to still not owning a computer, AND not knowing what Wikipedia is, but that he actually "hired a psychic to help find the weapons in the OJ Simpson murder case". I wish I was kidding....
Best Damn Podcast: "At the bottom of the page it has these random facts, the golf courses in reverse is one of them and then another one, it says you hired a psychic to find the murder weapon in the OJ Murder case."
Billy Packer: "That is correct....John Monte.
BDP: "And whatever happened?"
BP: "He found the weapons. And we uh...he claimed he found them. And so uh, we basically went to the LA Police Department, said John knows where the weapons are, and at that point this is about a week after the murders. And so, at that point the Police Department said, we can't take the chance that if he starts digging stuff up, that the press heard about this we'd be in serious trouble. So we had to put it on hold. But it was a great experience."
Wow. You learn something new everyday, don't you. I've been doing this site for almost three years now, and I can't remember ever hearing that story. Good fact checking work there, Best Damn Podcast. Be sure to check out the rest of the interview through the ITunes link below!

Orenthal Is Really Sorry He Robbed His Friends
Friday, December 05, 2008
If it weren't for his previous actions in court, I would say that O.J. comes across as really apologetic here, but alas....it's probably just leftover acting skills from the Naked Gun movies....
The rest of the parties are going through their final statements, and I'll be sure to update you with the verdict as soon as it goes down. Not that you care or anything.
Update: Wow....Simpson is looking at a minimum of 15 years in prison.

Another OJ Sentencing Will Be Broadcast Live
Wednesday, December 03, 2008

Obviously it won't be as dramatic and/or controversial as his 1995 trial, but at least one network has decided to air OJ Simpson's December 5th sentencing. OJ is facing multiple charges stemming from an alleged Las Vegas robbery back in September of 2007, and (THE) ESPN will be airing the sentencing live this Friday!
ESPNEWS and SportsCenter will televise live the sentencing of O.J. Simpson on Friday, Dec. 5. The court appearance in Las Vegas is currently scheduled for noon. Legal experts Lester Munson and Roger Cossack will provide analysis. In September 2007, Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas and on October 3, 2008 found guilty on multiple charges. So if it's at Noon that means Flores and McKendry will be on the call. I don't know what kind of pull ESPN has these days, but they really should bring out Judge Ito out of hiding for at least a brief appearance. He might be tough though. Hmmm, I wonder what Kato Kaelin is upto these days? Actually I wouldn't be surprised if he's already booked on First Take that day. That's a win-win!
