Prepare Thyself For More Emmitt (Ugh)
Friday, November 16, 2007
For some reason (that's unbeknownst to me) Emmitt Smith has been more popular than ever since going on that stupid dancing show. Well I guess it's not stupid if everyone in America watches the thing, but you get my point. The NFL's All-time Rushing Leader gets signed by ESPN, and is failing miserably. He almost has to be let go at this point right? Well even if he does get let go by ESPN.....he's not going away.
According to Sports Business Daily, Emmitt and his wife have signed with the Sports Agency IMG. You know...the one that delivers you Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning to your TV screen every other commercial?
IMG has signed the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and “Dancing with the Stars” winner Emmitt Smith and his wife, actress and former Miss Virginia USA Pat Smith, for representation, individually and as a pair, in a number of business areas, including entertainment projects.Greaaaaaat. And this "appeal" you speak of? Is that a synonym of the word "detest"??? No it's not? Oh...okay. And 90210??? Impressive! Was that the "Squash It" episode or the one where Scott shot himself in the stomach?
IMG Sports & Entertainment Senior Corporate VP Sandy Montag, who will lead the team of agents representing the Smiths, said that Smith has widened his appeal beyond a male sports audience by winning “Dancing with the Stars” last year. Pat Smith has appeared in a number of television programs, including "Beverly Hills 90210," "Sunset Beach," and "The Wayans Brothers Show."- SBD

good god. hopefully she gets all the lines and he's buried in the background.
emmitt trying to parlay his dancing win into something big is like giving john o'hurley the family feud. who cares?
Probably the greatest 90210 episode ever..."Watch me play with my dad's gun" BANG...
They really weren't creative with killing off sitcom characters back then...
"Well I guess it's not stupid if everyone in America watches the thing, but you get my point."
isn't that the criteria for whether or not something is stupid?
"Well I guess it's not stupid if everyone in America watches the thing"
Don't be so sure. Look at how many people watch Michael Moore movies.
Interest by a sheer number of Americans certainly doesn't rule out stupidity...
This is a flusterating developmental at this time.
Hey, if you can smile and be all chummy, the stupidity of ESPN is made for ya.
