NFL Open Thread - Week 4 Late Games
Sunday, September 28, 2008
Only three games this afternoon, and if you're in St. Louis or the close-by area, you're really dicked, as you're getting stuck with watching the Rams get beat up by the Bills today. Choo Choo hopes Trent Green survives the game with his head intact. I'll be flipping back between the SD/Oakland game along with Skins/Boys, because I have three Chargers in my fantasy line-up.
CBS:
San Diego at Oakland - Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Buffalo at St. Louis - Ian Eagle, Solomon Wilcots
FOX:
Washington at Dallas - Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
Do it to it, everybody, and stay tuned for the Eagles-Bears live-blog!
Update: Here's the Boldin vid. Pretty scary, but word is that he's moving all of his extremities at the present time. Hopefully he and Bronco receiver, Clifford Russell, make full recoveries.

Color guy on Kansas - Denver:
"Mike Cox was smothered by Champ Bailey". Sound it out.
The NFL stupid television rules prevent any game from being televised against the home team in the primary market. This causes a lot of problems when the home team stinks and never appears on national television.
The problem is biggest in the Bay area, where most weeks are two game weekends, and both almost always involve the 49ers and Raiders
James, what Anon said.
"The Jets will move up in the BCS standings" - Joe Buck after a update on Jets / Cards, and it was pointed out on PFT earlier that the
Jets throwbacks look like Favre's college uniform.
I swore I heard Buck say Packers during that, but not sure.
If what Anon 4:13 said is true, how is Skins / Boys not blacked in Oakland ?
@ jg
It is blacked out actually.......however if the Raiders game isn't sold out, they get the Cowboys/Redskins.
Man, that sucks. Thanks for the answer.
Everybody, please cross your fingers and hope Buck doesn't get Seahawks/Giants.
The Mets are choking!
SSreporters 4:33
Thanks the maps published early in the week did not show a blackout in Oakland.
"Maybe the Cardinals shouldnt have stayed on the East Coast" - Buck commenting on Jets / Cards
Predictably choking, SS. Stupid bullpen.
Anyone see the hit on Boldin? I'm hearing a possible broken neck.

Trust me, San Fran doesn't have it...the gray area has it.
Carlos Rogers = The Suck
Rams 14 Bills 6
Up is down, the Redskins have an offensive line.
"They are going to steal that all day." - Aikman on Dallas TE Witten scoring a TD on Skins LB Marcus Washington.
From the NASCAR race :
"Penalty for being too fast in and out of the pit" - Jerry Punch (I think)
That was BS no horse collar on Randle El
Boy, did I fuck up this "starting Phil Rivers instead of Tony Romo" today. Yikes.
At least that last TD from the Raiders gave us some NORV Face.
HOLY CRAP CHRIS CHAMBERS JUST TIPPED A PASS TO HIMSELF.
How open can James Trash...er...Thrash get?
"Who's coaching the Raiders today ?" - Aikman
"Maybe you have to threaten to fire your coach to get the team to perform." - Buck in response and ntoing the Rams / Bills score.
Please dont give Danny "Boy George"
Snyder any ideas.
Signed
Die Hard Skins Fan
Just some quick announcing updates for week 5:
Seahawks/Giants will be Kenny, Moose, Goose.
Redskins/Eagles will be Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
Stupid Philip Rivers. Fumble and a pick.
"They've had some balls that have been popped-up or on the ground." - Troy Aikman
Redskins actually look good.
AA must be running around like a mad man now as Washington takes the lead.
Pretty impressive stuff.
SS 5:15
Yea they do, if they can maintain it for the whole game
I've always thought Jason Campbell could be scary good if he ever got used to a system again.
Well done New York Mets, the final game at Shea Stadium is another loss to the Marlins.
SS - there will be a post on this later. I need to recover first.
Ya Gotta Bereave!
S2N
Supposedly, this versiion of the WCO is similar to what Campbell ran at Auburn in his senior year when they went 13-0.
That concept of time and math really fails Washington.
Am I the only one wanting the Super Bowl to be hosted at Lambeau?
SS 5:33
I would love to see that also, but the complaining from the papmpered media types about having the SB there would be unbearable. It could be unseasonably warm and the media would still cry about the cold.
WTF ? Skins you shut the Cowgirls down for most and now you go into a prevent
Afraid to go for it all eh Phillips?
Shawn Springs: Please stay with TO!
Would somebody please inform the Redskins D that the 2nd half has begun.
oh crap!!!
Decent game so far...
That was a busted play I'm guessing.
Casey Rabach, meet the bench.
Rabach is a moron
How was that field goal good?
I dont know but i'll take what I can get right now
Things are back to normal, the Raiders blow another lead.
Think Kiffin lasts until midnight ?
Can somebody please delete the spam posted at 6:10?
"its been a bad couple of weeks for the officials." - Aikman displaying a grasp of the obvious
S2N never deletes spam.......
Cowboys don't deserve to win this game.
Romo, EPIC FAIL!
"They were doubling Austin Miles."
Troy Aikman referring to the double coverage on Miles Austin.
Troy Aikman at Skins-Boys
They're doubling Austin Miles!
Umm that would be Miles Austin Troy.
Campbell was throwing that away
Spam removed.
I will be so upset if Washington blows this.....even though I picked Dallas, I think my stance is pretty clear on Dallas.
Buck is trying to enact the announcer jinx on Campbell by continually saying he has no turnovers.
Buck's money must be on the Boys.
I love prevent defense.........not!
The only thing it prevents is a win
Why does anyone even bother with prevent defense at all?
Skins need to fire defensive coord
Huge. Just huge.
HTTR ! Go Bears crush the Iggles
Stunning. Big win for Washington.....Jim Zorn has arrived.
Well, we know how Philadelphians love Aikman.
433: Had the Raiders not sold out CBS would have aired Bills-Rams in and around the Bay Area. Fox could only show one game (49ers-Saints) in Frisco.
How bout the play Carlos Rogers made on Terrell Owens that the fans wanted to see as Interference, no call. Troy Aikman: THAT WAS A GOOD NO CALL BY THE OFFICIALS. Please people, this is more proof that Aikman is NOT pro-Dallas.
I just moved to St. Louis and this is the second time, I think, that we've had only two games during the day, instead of three. Do you know why it is they're not showing Dallas-Washington here? It's bad enough having the Rams on one channel; it's basically unbearable when there's no alternative.
