Tales From The News Desk: Stu Scott, The Raleigh Weatherman
Friday, September 19, 2008
I just added this video over at Deadspin, but there needs to be a spot for it here as well. A.J. came across a video clip of Stuart Scott working as a Weatherman in Raleigh, North Carolina, and it couldn't be more entertaining for a Friday afternoon. Please to be enjoying "1989 Stu" hanging out with locals like Angela, Ennis, T.L. Sherman and one random no-named, mullet sporting townie....
Awww. Did you see that playful snow fight? The young Stuart was such a prankster! Good times.

Wow.
I remember the snow storm in 1989 here but do not remember Scott being on WRAL. I think I was too busy beating Legend of Zelda on my NES since we were out of school for the whole week.
Love those NC snowstorms.
"That's my photographer Mary Kate and I'm gonna nail her right now"
Inuendo anyone?
Of course he's going to nail her, back then he could see out of both eyes.
"Many shelves bare?" There were still plenty of copies of The Stuff and C.H.U.D. II: Bud The C.H.U.D., and at least two 30 packs of Meister Brau left.
What, no rhymes?
Jeesh! Man, he sounds white.
This is back when Stu had two good eyes.
Quite different from the current incarnation of Stu Scott. Really displays his versatility, able to suck in two totally unique capacities.
BOOYAH
Is the video now unavailable? I don't see it here any more?
Sweet sassy molassey!
I wonder if anyone has anyone has footage of Stu's first foray into sports when he was at WESH in Orlando after he left Raliegh. The sports dept. at WRAL was quite full at the time with the legendary Tom Suiter, Bob Holliday, and Jeff Graveley...
And all three of them are still there at WRAL.
He was also at WPDE in Florence, SC before this.
Really, Joe? How did I miss that? Where I lived in NC (between Lumberton and Fayetteville), I could pick up Channel 15 as well...thing was, the only thing worth watching then was weatherman Steve Capps.
I'm surprised he didn't bust out his "cooler than the other side of the pillow" line.
