Gregg Popovich Looks Like Tom Hanks In "Cast Away" And Has A Sense Of Humor

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I have no idea why Gregg Popovich decided to grow a creepy old man beard, but apparently it's given him some great ideas. Shaq recently called the coach a coward, and with the Suns and Spurs playing each other tonight, Pop got even though only way he knew how. By starting the "Hack-A-Shaq" tactic five seconds into the first game of the season. Via NESW Sports....

Hilarious! I could have done without double thumbs up move ala the Fonz, but at least Shaq got the joke and could laugh along with everyone else. The NBA....It's Fannnnnnntastic!!!

It looks to me like Duncan tried to do it off the opening tip, but it didn't get called.

That was awesome...

Normally, I hate the Spurs, but that was pretty funny.

that was really awesome. it's always refreshing when sports can get away from the money and get back to fun.

Nice job, Pops. It probably would have been better if you didn't lose 103-98, though. Go Mavs!

It certainly was funny but we here in Phoenix think that the Borat comparison is more accurate. Also there were a few other funny things from the telecast.
