Your NFL Broadcast Maps And Announcing Schedule For Week Twelve (UPDATED)
Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Man, I still can't believe how fast this season is flying by. We've only got a month and a half left and the games are obviously going to mean more and more each week. CBS once again has a slew of great games highlighted by Nantz and Simms heading to Tennessee for the Jets-Titans game. The B-Team even gets a good AFC East matchup in Miami as the Patriots try to solve the Wildcat Offense a second time.
FOX once again decided to send Buck and Aikman to a crappy Dallas game, while the "B" and "C" Teams get great games. Kenny, Moose and Goose head to AZ for the Giants-Cards game and Brennaman and Billick get the NFC South battle between the Panthers and Falcons. I have no idea why they continue to do that, but I'm sure the other crews aren't complaining.
FYI- The FOX maps will be coming later on in the day via The 506. Here's what we've got so far....

They sent Buck/Aikman to Dallas so they can stay there to broadcast the Thanksgiving game in Dallas, it saves FOX money and is more practical for the broadcasters.
Bullshit, Nantz and Simms go from Tennessee to Detroit.......and they're the ones who have made cost-cutting moves.
Yeah, but it's kind of hard of CBS to go from Detroit to Detroit anon12:47 when CBS doesn't broadcast any Lion games.
At least they can hitch a ride on the Titan charter.
Good point, Anon #1. I guess it makes sense, but Arizona is right around the corner. Stupid economy.
Cowboys/49ers SUCKS. Why couldn't we get Ravens/Eagles in Utah? The entire nation must watch the Dallas Cowboys whenever possible. What a crock.
Oh, thank God, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't watch the Texans and Browns.
Agreed with Brad James, but if the Ravens and Eagles both played the way they did last week, the Cowboys-Niners game will be a lot better on the eyes.
@ Brad James: That Ravens/Eagles game may be another poorly played clusterfuck like the tie last week. I'm going to stomach it and most likely live-blog it on my site, but that's only because I'm a diehard Eagles fan, and quite frankly, I'd still watch if it was the last game of the season and they were 2-13.
Correction: Chris' last name is spelled M-Y-E-R-S! No extra E in his last name. Chris MYERS, please make a note of that.
And the partial maps for Fixed Sports NFL twinbill weekend is up at the506.com, aa...
I guess I'm going to my local watering hole for Jets/Titans due to a 1pm blackout on CBS in the Philly area...
Screw you Eagles and your ties
and ideas on why the car v atl game is being shown at 4pm and not 1pm and they don't show the NYG v Ari game to most of the country?
Yay, another 4-game afternoon (5-game day if you count SNF). Ah, the benefits of being in college in The Middle Of Nowhere, PA.
This is the 3rd or 4th time that the Eagles have gotten Rosen and Ryan this year, and I did not remember them from years past being as bad as they are now.
I continue to say that Charissa Thompson needs to be with the Buck/Aikman team instead of horse mouth Pam Oliver.
Stay classy, anon 12:34 PM!
GMoney or anyone else,
Do you know how far down in Ohio that Browns-Texans game goes? Looks like I won't get it here in Cincinnati. Wondering if I go to a buddy's place in Middletown, they will have it or I'll have to head to the bar. Thanks.
@ Secaur: Visit the 506 website and you'll see that the map is interactive and you can point the mouse to your station and thus you can deduce if you get the Browns-Texans game.

This unrelated to the NFL but in the Ball St.-Central Michigan game we had a gem for the Pammies.
"You're exactly right, Ray Lewis." - Todd Harris talking to Ray Bentley while thinking of the Ball State running back Miquale Lewis. If I remember, I'll repost this in the Pammy thread on Saturday.
stephen:
so Jax at Det on Nov. 9 wasn't on CBS?
Hmmmmm -- wonder what network carried that game? Versus.
Learn the TV rules before you make such a ridiculous statement.
It's the VISITING team which determines the network that broadcasts games Sunday afternoon.
In case you're wondering, it's because an NFL game is ALWAYS shown back to the visiting team's market. But only shown in the home market if it sells out 72 hours in advance. (since you're uneducated)
Why in the hell is Fox and the NFL under the misconception that we give a shit about San Francisco-Dallas? It's just like the Yankees-Red Sox crap during baseball season. I guarantee you that pretty much everybody (except for Cowboys fans) is not interested in seeing the freaking Cowboys play every week, especially against shitty opposition like the 49ers. What a complete joke!
What the hell. I can't get a Giants game in SF to save my life, and the one weekend I'm in NY, SF is broadcasting the NYG game. Gah.
FOX shows "Dallas vs. anyone" just like they show "New York vs. anyone" in MLB.
Why do you take screen shots of the maps instead of giving the guy credit?
@ anon 4:16...
He credits The506 in his post...
Wow FOX Sports on a Budget? They just turn down renewing the BCS and they got more sideline reporters than ESPN on its NBA Basketball Coverage! I agree with the earlier comment that they are making it easier on the A team to stay in Dallas instead of traveling from Arizona to Dallas. However this might be the first time in a while that the B Team gets the lead feature game ever! Awful should look that up!
@UKno: Panthers-Falcons got flexed to a 4:15 ET kickoff.
glad I get to see 2 great games this week (NYG-Ari, Ten-NYJ)
I'm telling you, The buck family will be celebrating Thanksgiving at the Aikmans. That may be better than National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Another one was at the end of the Ball State game, when the coaches were shaking hands:
Todd Harris- "Butch Davis goes ou to shake Brady Hoke's hand."
The coach for Central Michigan is actually Butch Jones, not Butch Davis.
Blackout in Detroit for the third straight game.
Funny you should mention that, Joe. I attend Central Michigan, and it seems that everytime somebody from the outside talks about the football program, they refer to our coach as Butch DAVIS. Come on people...
The only good thing about being a 49er fan is that we are spared Joe Buck. Now I can't even say that. FUCK!
Can't get the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS GIANTS IN JACKSONVILLE. I'M STUCK WITH The Falcons...I BET THEY WOULD SHOW THE COWGIRLS AGAINST ANYONE AT 4 IF THEY WERE ON. WE ARE NOT MORONS...WE WANT THE BEST GAME...AND THAT NYG VS. ARZ..PERIOD. WHO ARE THE PINHEADS WHO MAKE THIS DECISION???
Actually, from my comment, he goes out to shake his hand, not goes ou.
Gus Johnson sucks with his fake enthusiasm.....
