Marijuana Really Makes Chris McKendry Giggle

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Deadspin mentioned earlier that Chris McKendry couldn't stop laughing during a segment on Corie Blount, and thanks to Keith's Sports Journal, we have the clip!

I can't tell if it was the upcoming quote, or the word marijuana, but that thing was just snowballing from the start. Arrests are serious things, but when a player's last name is Blount and he's arrested with 26 lbs of pot, it's okay to giggle.

Isiah Thomas Finally Address Alleged Suicide Attempt On Sports Center

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Isiah Thomas conducted his first major interview with ESPN this afternoon, and the former Knicks coach talked about everything from his Golf game, to chatting with Bob Knight, to his desire to "build something from the ground up". But the best part of the interview was by far Chris McKendry springing questions on him about the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him, and even his supposed suicide attempt. McKendry even flat out asked him if it was a suicide attempt, and Thomas couldn't say that it wasn't. Here's the clip....

Well that was certainly awkward, but great job by McKendry in asking the tough questions. I still find it out that he didn't address the suicide thing when it happened, but if the man says he wants to live, you have to take him on his word. Oh and as far as him coaching, I guess building something from the ground up is much easier if you haven't spent years destroying it. There is something to hiring a big name like Isiah coaching in the College game though. I'm sure some kids would attend on name recognition alone.

Flores And McKendry Share An Awkward Moment Involving The Playboy Mansion

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Robert Flores is quickly becoming one of my favorite Sports Center anchors (well during the day at least), and today's awkward exchange with Chris McKendry gave him even a few more brownie points. Flores was transitioning from an NL West story, to an item about Andrew Bynum missing a game and attending a party at the Playboy Mansion, when Flores went for a high five in regards to the Bunny Haven. Of course McKendry looked at him like he was crazy....

Awkwaaaard, yet too funny. Oh and it looks like the rehab is going well for young Bynum as well. Just look at the weight his damaged knee can support these days....

Who Wants To Play "Distract A Sports Center Anchor"?

Friday, August 22, 2008

I'm kidding of course with the title, but ESPN is doing a very interesting and not widely publicized, thing this afternoon. Right now actually. Starting at 2pm, you can chat with both Robert Flores and Chris McKendry while they are live on-air. When one is doing a highlight, the other will be answering questions at SportsCenter.com. ESPN says that this is a first for the AM Sports Center, and that the anchors are trying out different things both on-air and with the anchors blogs.

While this seems like a fun idea, it's going to be awfully hard to pull off without Flores and McKendry getting distracted. Live TV is tough enough as it is and it's a good thing they are attempting this on a Friday afternoon when the least amount of people are watching.

I'll be checking it out and updating this spot if anything fun or crazy goes down. Also, if any of you "AA Panelists" happen to get a question answered, I'll give you an E-High Five!
