Blake Griffin Does Not Care About Your Defenders And/Or Backboards
Saturday, March 28, 2009
I have to admit that I haven't watched Blake Griffin as much this year as I wanted to, or should have. That said, the guy is a complete machine, and I think this clip summarizes that mindset more than any other this season.
With Oklahoma up 20+, Blake decided to go baseline on a dunk that was as equally amazing as it was ridiculous. No defender challenged him, but he decided that wasn't enough for him. Yes, Griffin decided to battle the backboard itself, apparently out of sheer boredom....
Man. That guy is a straight up man child. He's Dwight Howard without the College experience. If Oklahoma was up against any other team but UNC, I might give them a chance, but with their outside shooting and free throws, you have to go with UNC. Still though, very very impressive.

Well If You're Going To Get Ejected, You Mind As Well Get A Nut Shot In
Thursday, December 04, 2008
Was checking out the USC-Oklahoma game earlier tonight (mainly to scout the Wizards' first round selection next year, Blake Griffin), and I caught this amazing incident between Griffin and USC's Leonard Washington.
At first glance it appeared as if Griffin was putting on a show with a WWE-like dive, but it wasn't until you saw his reaction and the subsequent replays, that I really understood what went down. Make sure you wait until the last angle at the 1:30 mark...
Nut shot! Very Chyna-esque by Washington there. He did get ejected, and after watching the previous play again, I can't really figure out what Griffin did to warrant such an act. Oklahoma went on to win by one at home as well.

Gameday Heading To The Cotton Bowl For Texas-Oklahoma
Monday, October 06, 2008

This trip is the one that we all predicted would happen. With both the Longhorns and Sooners undefeated, and with the game being on ABC, ESPN will take it's Gameday crew from Nashville, TN to Dallas this Saturday. Via the Oxford Press....
The Longhorns took care of Colorado 38-14 and Oklahoma took care of Baylor 49-17 on Saturday, and seconds after each victory, the respective fan bases had moved on.I don't know what it was about last week, but none of the games on the schedule were really that appealing. This week as a whole isn't better, but with TEX-OK, OKST-MIZZOU and LSU-FLA, at least we have three top tier matchups throughout the day. The Red River Rivalry should be a good one this year, and it kicks off right at noon this Saturday.
That's because No. 1 and undefeated Oklahoma (5-0, 1-0 Big 12) and No. 5 and undefeated Texas (5-0, 1-0) are meeting in Dallas on Saturday for the 103rd Red River Rivalry. This one promises to be one of the biggest Oklahoma-Texas showdowns ever, and not just because there will be 92,100 fans packed into the Cotton Bowl, almost twice the 46,200 the stadium seated when it first opened:
It's the first time since 2004 that both teams enter the game ranked in the top five.
That's exactly why ESPN's "College GameDay" will be camped outside the Cotton Bowl.

The "Saving Grace" Clip Of Barry Switzer That Everyone's Been Waiting To See
Friday, August 08, 2008
When I first broke the news that Barry Switzer was going to be a guest on TNT's Saving Grace, I incorrectly said he was no longer with FOX. Apparently the Oklahoma legend is still in the fray with the NFL on Fox, and he has been honing is acting skills in the offseason. I also proposed at the time that Switzer's performance would ultimately be much more important than any of the other forays into the business, and I'm here to say.....I was right (of course I was).
Of course I could just tell you that it was groundbreaking and say that I was right, but come on....you know me better than that. Ladies and Gents, I give you Barry Switzer's debut acting performance on the TNT hit series "Saving Grace"....
Billy Sims? Steve Owens?! Heisman Trophy Award winner, Jason White?!?!
