Well If You're Going To Get Ejected, You Mind As Well Get A Nut Shot In
Thursday, December 04, 2008
Was checking out the USC-Oklahoma game earlier tonight (mainly to scout the Wizards' first round selection next year, Blake Griffin), and I caught this amazing incident between Griffin and USC's Leonard Washington.
At first glance it appeared as if Griffin was putting on a show with a WWE-like dive, but it wasn't until you saw his reaction and the subsequent replays, that I really understood what went down. Make sure you wait until the last angle at the 1:30 mark...
Nut shot! Very Chyna-esque by Washington there. He did get ejected, and after watching the previous play again, I can't really figure out what Griffin did to warrant such an act. Oklahoma went on to win by one at home as well.

Lenny, we're all upset that Oklahoma passed Texas to go to the Big XII Title game but isn't there someone else you could punch in the nuts? The Big XII Commissioner?
AA, you have got to get the Reggie Miller comment about Lance Bass from the SA-DEN game tonight.
It was at 1:55 of the 2nd quarter and EJ was throwing it back to the announcers and call Reggie and Fratello N'Sync. Reggie said "I am Justin Timberlake if we are N'Sync, because I'm the successful one, who are you? Lance Bass?"
Then the halftime hilarity of the Kenny Smith comment about T.O.'s body ensued ... great night on TNT.
at about 0:07, you can see Griffin kind of shove Washington a little under the basket after the shot is made. Of course, no one deserves a nut shot.
"mind as well"
Awesome. My favortie typo, probably ever.
IRONY!
OOOOOH ME PLUMS
SSFD
As Raftery would say "the onions!"
Clearly, Washington comes from to the Chris Paul school of defending.
How did Bob totally miss it live. I realize it was away from the ball and Bob was clearly watching the ball and not the monitor but we saw it live on TV.
Leonard Washington? Wasn't that Dave Chapelle's character name in the World Series of Dice sketch? Ashy Larry, bitches.
typical black man goes ape-shit when a little white man barely touches him and has to retaliate to keep his street cred. THUG!!
It's like Jim Rome said when Reggie Evans grabbed Kevin Garnett in the package in the 2004 playoffs: for Washington that sure was an expensive date. I'm not trying to be crude here, but Washington didn't get equal value (bang for the buck).
@Anon 11:30
Griffin isn't really a little white man. He's not really a white man either.
An inaccurate, racist statement made anonymously on this blog? Impossible!
"typical black man goes ape-shit when a little white man barely touches him and has to retaliate to keep his street cred. THUG!!"
yea.. Blake isn't white.
anyway it got Chris Paul to stardom and Julius Hodge is probably in Europe now. Mr Washington wants the same result.. not likely young fella
so -- a black man retaliated against another black man? hmmm
that's like al sharpton and jesse jackson taking credit for a half-white man becoming president
Ummm, JFein...Anon 11:30 made the original statement, not sophia's bush (who's a pretty good commenter in his rare appearances here). It's an honest mistake.
@ RJBO: Wow...my bad. I saw the comment, scrolled down read the rest of the conversation and scrolled up to see who said it and I must have stopped too soon. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. Fixing it now...
My apologies to Sophia's Bush.

Anon @ 11:30 AM, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
While hilarious, I still can't figure out why Washington would be so stupid to intentinally punch Griffin in the nuts.
I was sort of hoping that Bob and Fran would try to describe the actual punch more. It's always funny to hear announcers dance around nut shots.
