That can't be true, right? Well it seems that it is and Busted Coverage has found the one man in Sports who doesn't know who Erin Andrews. The person in question is Paul Zeise of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, and when asked in an Internet chat if EA is hot in person (great question by the way, come on people) had this to say....

How does someone watch Sports for a living not know who she is? Especially a man. I guess not everyone is on the Internet, but if you watch College Football for your job, you'd think that you might have seen her once or twice. Especially when she worked a Pitt game this year. This crazy world continues to amaze me.

Still trying to catch up from being gone the whole weekend, so bear with me this morning as I get things back in gear. Wanted to first share this clip from Pittsburgh’s WDVE radio in which Merril Hoge continuing his over three year campaign of trashing Vince Young. The ESPN analyst was on WDVE to talk Steelers Football when he decided to jump on Young almost right away. Without being prompted by the host, Hoge called Young a "baby" and the he had "no clue" what was going on. From ESPN's AFC South Blog via Sports by Brooks....

Look, I have some irrational hate myself, but good lord....give it a rest already. I still don't think it's been proven that Vince Young is a bad Quarterback, and considering he went to both the Playoffs and the Pro Bowl last year, I would think most people would say he's been successful early on. Sure the guy's got his problems, but to pile on like this when he's down is pretty classless if you ask me.

You're on a Pittsburgh station talking about Week Three, and you're complaining about something a young kid did in Week One. Give it a rest, Merril.

This is a couple of days old, but hilarious none the less. Hockeytown Channel 4's sports reporter Katrina Hancock made waves after Game Five of the Stanley Cup Finals when she decided to say that the Penguins have better fans than the Red Wings....

Whether she's right or not (she kinda is...come on Detroit you didn't sell out games until the Western Conference Finals), this is definitely not a good idea at all. Detroit Fans Rage In Hatred For Sports Reporter (Busted Coverage)

It always amazes me when sober people purposely get kicked out of Sporting Events for just acting dumb, but this story is worth sharing. Red Wings fan Zach Smith got kicked out of Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena just after the National Anthem for throwing an octopus on the ice. Well young Zachary had a plan....

Then he got tossed. Security guards threw him out. "You're outta here," Smith said they told him. "Come back in and you get arrested." But Smith and his two friends from metro Detroit, who asked not to be identified, had a plan.

They had bought an extra ticket in anticipation of his booting. That's an extra $300 from a scalper. And Smith was wearing a regular T-shirt, instead of Red Wings gear, when he threw the octopus. Outside, he quickly threw on a Red Wings sweater and walked back into Gate 3.

"I feel great," Smith said as he roamed around the arena. "I'm not nervous. Anything with an adrenaline rush, I love it."

Genius. Seems like a waste of $300 to me but whatever floats your boat.

I saw this item last week and chalked it up to some dumb Sports Shock Jock just trying to start controversy, but it seems it was just insensitive to get him suspended indefinitely. Pittsburgh's ESPN Radio host Mark Madden made a joke about Ted Kennedy's brain tumor in which he said he was upset because he hope that the Senator "would live long enough to be assassinated." ESPN is having none of it....

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette quoted Madden as saying that he had hoped Sen. Edward Kennedy "would live long enough to be assassinated." The Massachusetts Democrat has a malignant brain tumor.

Madden made the remark during his show Wednesday. The show has aired weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. on 1250 ESPN. Madden was last heard on the air Thursday, the day before his comments appeared in the newspaper.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said the network removed Madden from the air "pursuant to our contractual rights." He said the comment was inappropriate and that ESPN and Madden had apologized to listeners.

Of course that's a horrible thing to say, but ESPN's supsensions and firings always amaze me. Haven't Sports Radio hosts around the Country said much more hurtful and controversial things than this? I'm not condoning the comment in the least, but it seems that ESPN bases their suspensions solely on the backlash and press the comments receive rather than creating a standard of behavior and sticking to it.
