Dick Vitale vs. Jay Bilas: The Fight You'd Never Thought You'd See
Monday, March 16, 2009
If there was one thing I never thought I'd write on this site, it was Dick Vitale getting into an on-air spat with a Duke alum. Not only that, but that he was even so fired up that he actually used the quote, “you went to Duke, you must be right." You have no idea how great this clip is....best five minutes I've ever spent in my life. Sorry, but I just really had to get that out there before posting it. Enjoy! Via College Hoops Journal....
Actually, I take that back....Digger Phelps saying, "Dick, let's get realistic," is my new goto phrase. Good lord he got owned during that segment didn't he? To tell you the truth, I would have let in St. Mary's before Arizona, but the dynamic duo of Jay and Digger convinced me otherwise.
Now if Digger could only explain how he has Pittsburgh playing Xavier in the Regional Final, I'll be convinced he's the Messiah....

CBS Sports Hooks Up With Facebook
Thursday, February 07, 2008

I saw this release and it almost blew my mind. This has to be one of the best ideas for a Sports partnership ever. CBS Sports signed a deal with Facebook to be the official bracket and content provider of the online community....
The application will not only allow users to fill out brackets with their picks for each round of the tournament and enjoy comparing their picks with their friends but also have access to the deepest tournament coverage from CBS Sports, CSTV, CBSSports.com and NCAA.com, including links to watch all of the live action on the Emmy award-winning NCAA March Madness on Demand service. The mobile companion will allow users to follow and participate in the application's "Smack Talk Wall" and rank their favorite/despised teams, right from their phone via the CBS Sports Mobile website. In 2007, more than 2.6 million Facebook users joined at least one bracket group in a similar tournament brackets feature run by the site.Just a genius move. Facebook has over 65 million users and instead of being in a tiny 20 team office pool you can challenge 8 million in the "Kentucky Rulez The World" Group. Sounds like fun. Oh and there's even a trash talk wall!!!
Each NCAA Basketball team has its own page, allowing participants to follow their favorite teams through the conference tournaments and into the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. Users can select their favorite teams and compete with other participants to show how much they love their team and battle for school supremacy.

I'm not lying when I say I've watched this video about fourteen times already. I was slow in getting it up because I was laughing so hard. Watch as this cheerleader from a highschool in the state of Washington tries to fix her precious little sign right before the team is supposed to run through.
Nice "Dances With Wolves" reference in there by the Sportscaster, but did you have to repeat it 20 times in a row like that at the end? That's just wrong.

Ocho Cinco Lets You Vote On His Infamous Checklist And Schools You On Trash Talking
Tuesday, September 11, 2007

After that somewhat questionable TD celebration last night (I thought it was funny, but it took waaaay to long to set up) the timing on this might not be so great, but Chad Johnson has launched a website.
It's full of webisodes and he'll even call your friends and trash talk them. Sweet right? I agree, but I think the coolest part is that you vote on whether or not you think he was covered in the last game he played. The answer for last night is an obvious no.
He also takes you into the hood to show you what trash talking is all about.
Ummm right. I'm not really sure what I learned there besides everyone in Cincy loving Ocho Cinco, but it was still enthralling to watch.
"That's your biggest risk so far...talkin' trash to me!" (Now That's Funny)
"OCHO CINCO 4 PREZIDENT!!!!"

P.S.- Chad is also sending a certain amount of money from each vote to "Feed The Children", and helping to build a school in Kenya, so that's commendable.
P.P.S.- I had Chad call me (cause I'm cool) and the highlight of the call was when he said, "I know you ain't taken no risks....you ain't even gotta job!" Oh snap!!! I was pwned....I cannot cover you Chadwick!
