Anyone remember back to the end of November when I told you hipsters about ESPN's plan to have a Moto X-Games themed New Years Party? Well okay if you don't here's the quick background....Starts after the Chick-Fil-A Bowl around 11:15, features Motocross jumps, and a band.....umm, that's about it.

Well back when I posted it they had yet to name the (as they referred to it) "Superstar Musical Performance". Any guesses? No??? Okay, what if I told you the name of the band was "Angels and Airwaves"? Ring any bells??? Didn't think so. The only reason I know who they are is because one of the ex-members of Blink 182 (Tom Delonge) is in the band, but other than that I didn't even know they had a new album out.....

Rock band Angels and Airwaves will help usher in 2008 on New Year, No Limits: New Year’s on ESPN Monday, Dec. 31, beginning at approximately 11:15 p.m. ET following the network’s coverage of the Chick-fil-A Bowl (ESPN/ESPNHD). The band will perform their hit songs "Everything is Magic" and "The Adventure" during the live, three-hour show from the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The night will feature two Red Bull Experiments by motorsports stars Robbie “Maddo” Maddison and Rhys Millen: a world-record motorcycle jump the length of a football field (Maddison) and a never-before executed back flip in an off-road racing truck (Millen).

Not to piss people of again, and go music snob on you all (sorry Barenaked Ladies fans), but they aren't exactly "Superstars". Here are some of the reviews from their debut album which came out in 2006. I'm surprised they were available.

The superstar musical performance has yet to be named, but the details surrounding ESPN's New Years Eve are....and it's going to awesome! What would you say to a Motocross Rider jumping across a Football field? Radical right??? How about a dude flipping a truck like they do with bikes in the X-Games? Totally sweet right?

Well your wish has been granted. Immediately following the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on December 31st you'll get both!

New Year. No Limits will feature action sports stars Robbie “Maddo” Maddison and Rhys Millen, performing two Red Bull Experiments: a world-record motorcycle jump the length of a football field (Maddison) and a never-before executed truck flip (Millen). Set to begin immediately following ESPN’s coverage of the Chick-fil-A Bowl (at approximately 11:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPNHD), the three-hour special will ring in the new year on both coasts and will feature a live performance by a superstar musician to be announced soon.

At the stroke of midnight Eastern Standard Time following the telecast’s split-screen view of the Times Square ball drop, viewers will see Maddison’s bike jump. Millen’s feat will be performed at midnight Pacific Standard Time. Co-hosted by ESPN commentators Joe Tessitore and Mark Schlereth, with reporting by Jamie Little and Cam Steele, New Year. No Limits will examine the physics behind the feats, the athletes performing them, and where they rank with other contemporary athletes and accomplishments. In addition, the telecast will feature high-end graphic imaging, live cut-ins from the event site, and provide the latest sports news via a 90-minute SportsCenter between jumps.

Such a great idea. I mean what could I want more after a great Football game than X-Games stunts? If you said nothing you are just as rad as this idea. And you know what? Joan Lynch, ESPN Executive Producer and Vice President of Content Development Production (Longest. Job Title. Evar.) agrees with me (and you)!

Dead on assessment of New Years Joan! It's gotten stale and there's nothing like goofy stunts to kick-start (see what I did there?) the failing Holiday again. Besides who wants to watch Maroon 5 and Ryan Seacrest anyway?

Player(s) to Watch: Texas' RB #25- Jamaal Charles

With Colt McCoy ailing the Longhorns look to get going with the running game. Charles only has 805 yards on the season, but look for him to add a good bit to that total today.

Iowa's Wide Receiver #88- Dominique Douglas

Drew Tate would be the obvious choice, but I hate picking QB's as players to watch. That's no fun. I don't think Iowa is going to be able to run against Texas, so they're going to have to have a hell of a passing game and Douglas is Tate's go to guy.

Deciding Factor(s): Iowa's defense. Period. They have to slow Texas down and keep it low scoring.

Spread: Texas -8.5, O/U 54

AA's Pick and Analysis: Interesting stat.....when Iowa scores over 17 points they are 6-0, but when they score under they are 0-6. I think this special little statistic ends today though as Texas proves to be WAY too much for Iowa.

Is over 1,000 yards on the season, but was injured against Wake Forest. He's had a month to recover and Tech will need him against a good Georgia D.

Georgia's RB #6- Gregg Lumpkin

Just like Ore.....Lumpkin is the key to Georgia's offense. He had one 20 carry game this season.....a win over Auburn.

Deciding Factor(s): Establishing the run on both sides of the ball. Both QBs are shaky at best, and need a good bit of time to throw the ball. Look for a low scoring first quarter with both teams trying to open it up in the second.

Spread: Virginia Tech -3, O/U 37.5

AA's Pick and Analysis: Being from Virginia there isn't a team that's shoved down your throat than the Hokies. I hate the Hokies. I hate them with a passion. I love to watch them lose because their fans freak out like it's the end of the world. Good times really.

Well I don't think I'm going to get that feeling of joy today. Tech just has faster, bigger, and more athletic players than Georgia.
