Fate To MLB Players: Sorry, Your Streak Must Fall

First, Bobby Jenks allowed a seeing-eye single to Joey Gathright - JOEY GATHRIGHT?! - that ended his string of 41 consecutive batters retired.
Then Brandon Webb gave up a clean RBI single to Prince Fielder that halted his consecutive scoreless innings streak at 42.
And on Friday, Placido Polanco made a bad throw after fielding a Melky Cabrera chopper for his first error in 147 games and 725 chances, both major league records.
Polanco's miscue came in the first inning of a game that had been delayed just over four hours due to rain. If I had been him, I might have found myself wishing for more inclement weather to come along and wash that error right off the books.

Just heard on the Tigers broadcast, they reversed the error and gave it to the first baseman, Marcus Thames instead. The errorless streak lives on!

Pujols did not come though on his "home run in consecutive games" streak, stopping at 5.
