I think I'm going to be avoiding the Buck/McCarver situation, yet still watch the game, in the only way possible: I'm just going to attend the game. Thank God for good timing.
Boston Red Sox at LA Angels?? Wasn't that last weekend?
According to the Greensboro FOX affiliate's website, they will be showing Yankees/Red Sox tomorrow instead of Braves/Phillies:

Braves Vs Phillies will be seen by fans that won't get Yankees Vs Red Sox. And yeah, it might be annoying to see the Yankeees and Red Sox almost every weekend, but they bring the big ratings and in turn the big ad money for networks like Fox, ESPN and TBS.
It's fun to complain about the overexposure of the best rivalry in sports when they are showing semi-meaningless games in May. But, right now, these are pretty big games being played at Fenway this weekend and should be nationally covered.
Sorry, O's fan that runs this site and hates espn.
yes I get Matt V.
Will this be one of his last fox games before he goes to Beijing for NBC?
In the 1980s NBC had a policy of showing only NY/LA/Chi/Atl against anyone. The ratings fell to the point where NBC bailed out of weekend baseball.
Fox is following in that pattern by showing only NY/LA/Chi/Bos against anyone. Want proof? The Marlins are chasing the Phillies in the NL East, yet Fox is force-feeding the Yankees game into Miami and Palm Beach.
I'm with Chuck on this one (surprise). Look, I understand that the teams bring ratings, but I think the majority of people are getting more and more bored with the rivalry. Especially if the Yankees miss the Playoffs this year.
I would personally love to see more National League teams too, but that's just me.
I'd like to see some more teams from west of the Mississippi. Even if it is the NL Worst, they still play baseball out here.
It's not gonna ever happen, but I'd like to see the Wednesday Night Baseball Doubleheader come back on ESPN.
It's fun to complain about the overexposure of the best rivalry in sports
Ohio State and Michigan are playing tomorrow?
/had to
I'd like to see more reruns of the ground-breaking urban sitcom "What's Happening." Oh, and other MLB teams on Fox, too.
does anyone realize that no one is watching sunday mlb on tbs...and that EVERYONE watched braves tbs baseball....
Joe Morgan is off this week (He is at the Hall of Fame ceremony like every year), Steve Philips and Orel Hershiser are calling the Sunday night game instead.
"Joe Morgan is off this week (He is at the Hall of Fame ceremony like every year)"
Either that or Ryne Sandberg isn't there...
you need to use that picture of buck and mccarver as a create the capture- it would be great.
create the caption... sorry too many rum and cokes.
Miami and Palm Beach are now getting the Braves-Phillies game. Either those 2 markets heard it from Marlins fans and/or Fox has someone following this website.
Jacksonville is now getting the Yankees-Red Sox game.
I'd like to see more reruns of the ground-breaking urban sitcom "What's Happening."
I deserved that, because I didn't explain that my lousy suggestion might get some more West Coast baseball games on ESPN Wednesday nights.
Oh, and other MLB teams on Fox, too.
I'm setting my DVR for White sox-Royals next Saturday on Fox, and Hawk & DJ better be on the call.
Greensboro market is actually getting the damn Yankees game.
sorry chuckyinjersey, we're getting yankees here in palm beach as well. and my friend in miami also says they are getting yankees.
fox, espn and tbs needs to stop cramming our face full of northeast sports and give more airtime to the rest of america. not everyone bows down to the almighty northeast elite and is probably why their ratings are going down. people want less ny and boston sports, not more.
Watch the highlights of the Braves-Phillies game on MLB.com. The announcers were Kenny Albert and Eric Karros, not Matt Vasgersian and Mark Grace. Grace was in the studio for FOX. So awful announcing got this one wrong.
What is with all of the recent nitpicking in these threads? This from HD Sports Guide had Vasgersian & Gracie doing the game, only to be updated the next day by Fox with Albert & Karros in the booth. These things happen. Goodness...
This is why I miss the old days of ESPN Wednesday Night Baseball. They had double headers every week and they'd always show West coast games at 9 central time just when I get back from Wednesday night church. Now ESPN and FOX show no baseball West of the Mississippi River which is an absolute joke. And it's unfortunate that when west coast teams get to the playoffs, no one knows anything about them because all they do is shove Yanks, Sox, Mets, Cubs, Cardinals and every other east coast team down our throats. The Rays are getting more games on TV than the Angels, or Dodgers, or the A's. I can't stand it anymore. Baseball is being ruined by television now. FOX Sports is based out of Los Angeles, and they don't even show any games on the west coast unless it features an east coast team. No NL West, or AL West matchups ever.
You know... whether people on this site complain or not, this matchup is going to draw the biggest crowd. I don't know why this happens every weekend. The big market teams get the national broadcast because they are big market teams. It makes sense to me... and I'm willing to bet it's been like this for decades.
I need to know why this comes as a shock every weekend and needs to be brought up every time a team from Boston, Chicago or New York is put on Fox, ESPN, or TBS.
Sure, it would be great to catch up and coming teams like Tampa Bay, Milwaukee, Arizona (even though they kind of suck), and I guess even the Angels. But, since Fox, TBS and ESPN are in the business of making money they are going to put the teams on that are going to make them money.
Now, if you want to complain about the hype, the montages, and everything else that goes along with it maybe I can understand. But that all comes with this new media that I don't understand. And really, isn't a break from Brett Favre nice even if it is to talk about the Sox and Yanks.?
