Here Comes The Super Bowl Billboard Material

It happens every year without fail. One team will plan their parade early, or call out a certain player, and you know who's winning the game. While Pittsburgh has been relatively quiet over the course of the week, the Cardinals decided to hold a rally and desecrate the "Terrible Towel". Not only did "Big Red" use the towel to wipe his underarms, but the Mayor of Phoenix blew his nose with the thing....
The mayor of Phoenix blew his nose into a Terrible Towel and then threw it to the ground at a send-off rally for the Cardinals in Phoenix on Monday.Oh no, how dare he!!! Seriously though, why is it that every year you can tell the exact moment when a city causes their team a loss of Karma? Just calm down and try to enjoy the game, Arizona. It will all be over soon enough.
On Tuesday night, he apologized for his actions.
Mayor Phil Gordon said, "At no time did anyone intend, in any way, to offend the Steelers organization and their many fans, supporters and traditions."
At the same send-off rally on Monday, the Cardinals' mascot used the Terrible Towel to wipe his furry armpits before the mayor sneezed and stomped on it.

Why the apology? Do people really think that he blew snot into Myron Cope's legacy? Only a retard Steelers fan would get upset about this.
I agree with GMoney. It was clearly done in fun and to get the crowd into it, and not to blow snot into the legacy of the Steelers' organization and Myron Cope.
If you are going to do it in the first place, at least have the balls to stand up for it.
Steeler fans actually got the opposing mayor to apologize for doing something to pump up Cardinal fans. Politicians are too afraid of offending anybody. What a joke!!
I work with a tard Steelers fan. She has like a 30-year old Terrible towel that's getting moldy and keeps it on her computer. It's pretty disgusting.
Uh oh, the Steelers are going to win this game now because the mayor blew his nose in the Terrible Towel. They are going to put pictures of this all over the locker room and will be extra motivated to payback the Cardinals for desicrating the sacred Towel. Forget about winning the Lombardi Trophy, it's all about payback and the Steelers are going to make the Cardinals pay for it!
You're an idiot. Who cares what the Mayor does to this stupid-ass towel. It's just a towel and means nothing to most of us. I'm embarassed he made a public apology and I would have stood my ground. Steelers fans are in for a huge shock when the Cards win by over a dozen points. It's an effing football game...just a football game. Everyone should chill over something SOOO stupid.
Jealous that the team you care about has nothing quite so similar, nor is in the Super Bowl?
Sounds like the bleating from some Seacocks fans.
Sticks and stones, etc...
That is the difference between a real fan (Steeler Nation) and a newbie or bandwagon fan. We don't expect people to understand because 'It's a Burgh Thing'. One Man (Myron Cope) made a difference in the world, and INSPIRED a nation, Steeler Nation! The Terrible Towel is not about the Steelers. It is about the ideals and beliefs of a society, a Nation. But like I said before, 'It's a Burgh thing', you wouldn't understand.
I think the thing that Card fans don't get or any other fans will not get is Myron Cope did this for his son, donating all of the proceeds to Charity, and infact even after his death the charity still makes around 2 Million a year off the towels. Even for non football fan giving somthing like that to charity is somthing that should be praised not disgraced like teams have done. Call it a curse call it Karma, or call it just God working in funny ways, but he has blessed the Steeler fans ever since this good deed was done. I'm sure if the Card fans came out with a bracelt or ribbon to represnt a charity for Pat Tillman or for ventrans like him. they would not appreciate Steeler fans wiping their arm pits with it now would they???
Considering Myron died this year, and what the towel proceeds are for, it is pretty stupid...I don't expect idiot politicians to know it.
