***Job Alert*** - ESPN Hiring A New Ombudsperson

Monday, January 19, 2009

The wonderfully talented, and spot on, LeAnne Schriber's time at ESPN has sadly come to a close as ESPN's Ombudsman. I'll be taking a closer look at her impact in the year or so she's been around, but I first wanted to let you know that ESPN is currently looking for her replacement, and to get your resume ready! Via USA Today....

ESPN is searching for a successor to ombudsman Le Anne Schreiber.

The author and ex-New York Times sports editor has been bluntly honest in her reviews of ESPN's on-air anchors, analysts, reporters and executives. But Schreiber's two-year tenure expires this spring, said Norby Williamson, ESPN's executive vice president of production.

"We're anxiously looking for the next ombudsperson," Williamson said.

Executive editor John Walsh is leading the search for the next ombudsman to critique ESPN's coverage and decision-making, he added.
Well this will be a fun search, and I'm officially throwing my hat in the right, ESPN! You can pay me hardly anything and I already watch the network as much as LeAnne did. It's a match made in heaven and I'll be awaiting my offer letter at AwfulAnnouncing@gmail.com in the coming days.

Her impact was easy...she had none. They still do the same shit that they did two years ago. It's arguably worse now.

if you throw your hat in... you're a sellout... to go work for the enemy?

The very entity that your site aims to destroy?

BS - It's not about the money! You hate ESPN and everything it stands for... even if you joined them to criticize them... your still bedding the enemy.
