You Been Blinded came across this very odd exchange on First Take yesterday, and I had to share this afternoon. Yesterday, Dana Jacobson and Jay Crawford were joking with Barry Melrose (who was off set) about what he uses to keep his "middle age good looks", and....well....just watch....

He did say "chicken SHIP" (not S**T), but still....a little odd right? I thought the exchange was rather funny, but apparently the powers that be made Jacobson apologize for the comment....



Man, Dana is always doing other people's dirty work. I can think of about three different people she's had to apologize for, and that of course doesn't include herself (see: Mike & Mike Roast). I guess ESPN thinks she's had the practice.

First Take has been shuffling co-hosts with Skip Bayless, since Stephen A. Smith's contract wasn't renewed by ESPN, and the process has apparently confused Dana Jacobson greatly. Bayless' "opponent" today was College Basketball analyst, Stephen Bardo, and the fact that another person with the same first name as SAS was on the show, cause Jacobson to slip up a bit....

Obviously it's an honest mistake, and she caught her error, but still hilarious. Maybe they should just stick with the two Stews for awhile until the glow of SAS has disappeared from the show. Too funny.

I know I made a vow not to mention her for a good while, but I think this item is funny enough, and/or positive enough, to lift the ban for the moment. Every year, Curtis Granderson holds a Celebrity Basketball Tournament, and this year Dana Jacobson took part. MLive's It's Just Sports has both the hilarious account of her play on the court, and also a brief interview where she says she doesn't hate blogs....

Edwards, who along with Nelson were the two best on the court, destroyed a Dana Jacobson shot during the game. I remember playing basketball at recess in elementary school. Sometimes girls would play. They weren't very good, but the unwritten rule was always to let them shoot. Most in this game followed that code, allowing the two girls, Jacobson and Haglund, as well as Faris (not a girl, but he was on Project Runway, so that should tell you his basketball skill level) to shoot unimpeded when they had the ball. Well, Edwards wasn't playing nice and as Jacobson launched a shot, Edwards threw it back across halfcourt, allowing someone on his team (I think Terrell) to get a breakaway layup.

A: I'm from Michigan, from West Bloomfield. Curtis called and said come do this for his charity and he's always there for me and I'm here for him and it's a great cause.

Q: You had really weird incidents with blogs, any hard feelings carrying over from that?

A: Nope. No. No.

Considering the hell she went through over the past year or so, that's a great attitude to have. Also, you never do that to a girl, Braylon, unless you're in Middle School and are using the tactic to flirt with said girl. It's a much more tactful approach than punching them in the arm.

Field trip to Curtis Granderson's Celebrity Shootout: Dana Jacobson, Drew Henson, Braylon Edwards and Rashad Evans actually talked to us (It's Just Sports)

Sure it's Division III, and doesn't technically count in the final standings (I kid), but this buzzer beater from Geneseo's Scott Morton to beat Oswego in the battle of SUNY schools....is pretty amazing. And who better to show it to you than our friend Dana? She even has an interview with the kid!

Good stuff Geneseo Knights and Mr. Morton! You have the top spot until Blake Hoffarber once again decides to unleash one of his ridiculous buzzer beaters on the Basketball World.

Everyone knows that Skip Bayless is a sensationalist and goes way over-the-top to portray his hatred of all things Terrell Owens, but this display just made me laugh. At the end of First Take, Dana Jacobson passed along the T.O.-Sam Alipour story and gave Skipper the chance to admit that Owens actually did something good. Bayless instead tried to take the angle that anyone would have helped a man hit by a car and even suggested that T.O. knew that it was a reporter that was hurt and in turned helped him because of it....

Irrational hate is one thing but this level of bias is just unhealthy. Not to mention that it has absolutely zero place in reporting (not that ESPN cares). He's just one person who's employment continues to amaze me.

I normally wouldn't even draw attention to his idiocy but this one just made me laugh so much that I had to share. I personally loved the comparison to someone who was in the woods. That's just too rich Skip....toooo rich.

The ESPYs Are Extremely Dangerous, ESPN Writer Hit By Car (Awful Announcing)

I caught most of the ESPYs last night and I have to say that while the event is a bit over the top, and the jokes are pretty bad, it's not all that bad. Sure you wouldn't go out of your way to watch it, but if you say...."had to"....it wouldn't be the end of the world. Justin Timberlake was equal parts cheesy and entertaining and I pulled a quick video for you if you missed the festivities....

You can get an overall sense of the night from that video, and if ESPN could ever not release the results about 5 days early they might have something. Outside of Timberlake singing and dancing, other highlights included: A nice moment about the V Foundation from Stu Scott and Robin Roberts, John Carlos and Tommie Smith winning the Arthur Ashe award and the girls who carried the Softball player around the bases winning an ESPY.

Again, nothing to change your weekend around, but they weren't terrible. Well if you could get past the million Hummer ads and Dana Jacobson's guns. Still....not that bad.

So I was sitting here thinking how sick I am of this mustache talk and praying that Giambi doesn't get voted into the All Star Game when First Take decided to bring it up yet again. Well they added an interesting twist on the 'stache by inviting on the Executive Director of the American Mustache Institute, Aaron Perlut....

The Chinese Panda?! Hilarious. I would say that's enough of the 'stache talk but I wouldn't want to upset the good Doctor. Hopefully Giambi gets in now and this guy gets to show up on the red carpet for the All Star pregame show.

These are also the type of guests First Take needs more often. I want to see this guy arguing with Skip Bayless, not Rob Parker or Nelly (seriously....he's a guest on the show next Monday).

Chalk this up with something I never though I'd say, but thank god for Skip Bayless today. First Take decided to replay and discuss Joe Buck's comments this morning and here is Skipper's rather well thought out and spot on response....

See how easy that was Skip? You're honest, you know the topic, and you showed some passion about a Sport you love. All kidding aside, I couldn't have said it better myself and the line about Bud Selig was spot on. You just can't have the figurehead of your Sport bad mouthing it like this.

Hell has officially frozen over. Oh, and I promise never to mention Bayless, Buck and Cowherd in the same day again.

I think I've come to a level headed approach over the past two years working on this site. Very few things "piss me off" anymore and I do a good job of reminding myself that Sports is in the end just a game and not the end of the World (as much as they my encompass my World). Well this my friends....pisses me off.

Dana Jacobson was doing her daily duties as host of First Take and leading Detroit News' Rob Parker and Skip Bayless through their list of topics when they came to the White Sox blowup doll incident. Watch closely as Dana Jacobson steals the show away from an idiotic point from Rob Parker. Listen closely.....

Let me just write that quote out for all of you again....

"If this was something that degraded somebody racially someway or religiously in some way. Would you view this differently?"

Okay, Rob Parker's understanding of the "you are coming into our home" argument aside (come on)....are you f'ing kidding me Dana Jacobson?!?! This statement is coming from someone who went on a vodka fueled religious tirade to get a laugh out of a crowd at a roast. This also isn't the first time that she's done this either. At the end of last month she questioned Tiger Woods about cursing on the golf course.

How can ESPN continue parading these jokers out there again and again and think that people aren't paying attention? Not all of ESPN is filled with them, in fact most of the employees aren't, but it's the precious few that are making the rest of the network look so bad. Hypocrisy should really be a crime, especially in this case. Good lord.
