The Carolina Panthers are a 5-8 afterthought this Sunday night.

It's all about Brett on NBC.

I live in the New York market and it drives me crazy when the other station can not show a game while the Jets/Giants are playing. On Sunday, the Jets are on at 1pm on Fox and CBS should be showing the Patriots since they are so close to NY, but they wont.

The NFL needs to change their TV restrictions. Between this and blocking the NFL network, they are only hurting themselves.

It's funny how MLB gets criticized for so much, yet the MLB network is 2nd to none.

Brett Favre and/or the Cowboys.

I guess if we don't like either one, we're shit out of luck. Because the whole DAMN country has to watch them when they play.

dcs,

The thing that I don't like is that my team always plays its games in the early time slot. It's our tradition and we want it that way. But when New York comes to town, we have our game moved to the late game. Our tradition and convenience has to be compromised because New York City has to have its precious Jets/Giants doubleheader.

In the NFL's defense (they only receive input from NBC), the only two Sunday games worth flexing in (Bengals @ Chargers and Packers @ Steelers) were both protected by CBS and Fox respectively. Falcons @ Jets, Dolphins @ Titans, and 49ers @ Eagles weren't going to bring in huge enough ratings to justify a swap.

By the way, NBC is going to keep the Cowboys @ Redskins game next week over a possibly very deserving Jaguars @ Patriots game.

Bob Papa calling three games in five days. Nice. He's one of the best play-by-play guys in the business.

I don't know if it's Bob Papa or Matt Millen, but they keep saying the Colts are down by 4 with a scoreboard of 31 to 28. 31-28=3 not 4. Also: they called Dallas Clark "Darrel"

With the Bear/Raven game moving to 4:15, the map is due for a shake-up. Or is there some accommodation for broadcasters when the NFL makes a late change?

Do you want more interesting?
Joe DeCamillis has been around a few kickers that have played a long time in the NFL Draft (Jason Elam, Morten Andersen) and he believes Nick Folk will be one of them, too.
The Cowboys cut Folk Monday after missing 10 field goal attempts this year and signed Shaun Suisham.
"He works his craft the way you're supposed to work it, so it was a difficult decision obviously," DeCamillis said. "You don't want to see anybody struggle and he was struggling. I think he even knew it. I've got the utmost respect for him, wouldn't surprise me if he started kicking well again the league. He just kind of went into a little funk and unfortunately we couldn't get him out of it. It's disappointing on my part because you hppe to do something to revive it and get him going in the right direction and it just didn't happen."
Merry Christmas! And have a good time!
