NFL Open Thread - Week 16 Early Games

Fox gets the doubleheader this week, CBS probably has the best game with the Pittsburgh-Tennessee tilt. Thankfully, I don't have to watch either Oakland or San Francisco this week. I will be happy with watching Norv's sad face as the Buccaneers hopefully put an end to the Chargers' miserable season and give the Broncos the AFC West title.
CBS:
Pittsburgh @ Tennessee - Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
San Diego @ Tampa Bay - Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
Miami @ Kansas City - Dick Enberg, Randy Cross, Dan Fouts
Cincinnati @ Cleveland - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
Fox:
Arizona @ New England - Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa
San Francisco @ St. Louis - Sam Rosen, Tim Ryan
New Orleans @ Detroit - Ron Pitts, Tony Boselli

Snow looks awesome in HD.
7 inches of snow in my neck of the woods (about 10 miles from Seattle proper).....but the media thinks I'm retarded.
A reporter banged his microphone against the ground, and said it was ice.
I couldn't believe what I heard.
Anyway, looks like the Cards still can't run the ball.
This Burger King Whopper Virgin commercial is terrible and offensive.
Michelle Biesner of NFLN is in KC for that game and her water bottle froze (imagine that) in 10 degree weather.
There were two good segments on NFLN's pregame show, they interviewed Charles BArkley about the Auburn coaching situation and he made some good points(dont have video). Also, they had Warren Sapp as Santa Claus, he gave Donovan McNabb a rule book, and a gun belt with holster for Plaxico Burress.
@ S2N, you have to get video of a ref hitting a Rams player with a forearm shiver and knocking the player down. It was great.
The Cardinals look terrible.
Phil Simms: "Thats why he was shooken up"
Refs just gave Tampa a gift TD
Gotta love how Cassel really has played this year!
@Conquest
Given the media's love for the Patriots, I'm surprised there's no talk of him for MVP
I'm pretty sure the Cardinals can get back on the bus now. This one is over
"Cardinals are having a tough time with footing today."- Johnston, Patriots dont seem to be bothered by it.
Cue the warm weather team playing in snow excuse
Dammit, the Bolts are showing off their talent against the Bucs.
First round loss for Arizona in two weeks. Call your bookie, mark it down, done.
"We've been having a ball here."
-Moose talking about Foxborough's weather.
"Arrr, matey." - Greg Gumbel. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.
Steelers just scored TD. 10-7 Titans 5:40 left in 2nd
S2N: You don't suppose Greg Gumbel was channeling his inner Pirate Rupert Murdoch?
"He grabbed him, twirled him, and tossed him, like a salad." - Dan Dierdorf, on Antonio Cromartie's holding penalty on Antonio Bryant.
Next up: Dierdorf talks about mustache rides.
"Algee Crumpler is a big target, you dont want to bring him down in the open field"- Simms, THAT IS THE DEFENSE'S JOB PHIL !
STFU Simms
ARZ-NE... Snow angels are unsportsmanlike conduct???
"Theyre playing not to give up the big play." Simms on the Titans end of half defense, most of us call it a prevent or Cover 2.
Again, STFU Simms
Anon 2:18 PM, heed the advice of JoePa: "Act like you've been there before and hand the ball to the ref."
"He's only missed twice on the road all year." - Nantz on Steelers kicker Jeff Reed. Reed then misses kick, Nantz working announcer jinx on kicker to perfection.
10-7 Titans at half
The Rams are looking great against the Niners. The Niners are a completly different team with Frank Gore.
"You want to play your best footbal going into playoffs, and the Patriots have been doing for it years."- Johnston, thanks Capt Obvious, how does FOX pay you ?
previous post should say "how much does FOX pay you ?"
I can't stand listening to the CBS halftime show. They make stupid-ass jokes and laughing like it's funny. This needs to stop.
"Please Greg, it's very rude to talk over the cannons." - Dierdorf, after Garcia rushes in for a touchdown.
How many teams gave up on Jeff Garcia again?
Dude just threw a 71 yard bomb to Antonio Bryant on a rollout for a score.
"Right now, Norv Turner is thinking, 'Jeff Garcia, you are killing me.'" - Dierdorf.
And right now, Eagles fans are thinking "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?"
"He definitly has a glich in his giddy up."- Tim Ryan talking about Rams Steven Jackson.
"He needs to set his feet and just throw it." - Simms on a incompletion by Kerry Collins
DUH !
STFU Simms
That new game show with Regis looks horrible. Who wants to watch a show with so many washed up stars?
They just ran an ad for some Nike product where they explained the BCS formula, while showing bunch of football players getting muddy.
They forgot "sportswriters agenda driven popularity contest based on what the team did 30 years ago, and has no reflection of actual current on field performance. Expert analysis used to pimp expert's alma matter for undeserved spot in national title game they lose by 4 TD's."
@walnuts 3:11
If some of those people were ever stars to begin with.
I guess Craig Kilborn was available
As an Eagles fan, I hope they can win out and get the 5th seed in the playoffs and play in Arizona vs. the Cards.
Steelers just screwed themselves. Held Titans on 3rd down, then got called for unspotmanlike conduct(simulating snap) on FG try. Titans then scored TD. 24-14 Titans 14:57 left in 4th
San Diego TD!
I don't know what to think right now. I want the Bolts to lose, but Philip Rivers is racking up the fantasy numbers big time today.
If the Chargers wins the division, maybe that means Norv comes back.
WE GOT A BLEEDER!
And Fixed hasn't switched from Cards-Pats.
What. The. Fuck?
Anyone who mates the clip of Jeff Garcia bleeding from his nose with the Pixies' "Broken Face" has my endless admiration.
Oh, the Broken Face got pick-sixed. 41-24, Bolts. This one's done, and Norval is still alive...for now.
Further proof Pro Bowl is a popularity contest: Only six Titans made it, from the last team in NFL to lose a game this year
That loud cheer you hear are Eagles and Falcons fans hearing the Bolts winning.
If it is a popularity contest, why was I voted in? No matter, since the Cowboys won't make the playoffs Jessica and I can go on a long vacation.
"I dont what's happened to the Cardinals lately but they won their division" - Nantz
It's called just happy to make playoffs, Jim.
I see Arizona scored a TD. Bellicheat will probably put Cassell back in.
Big Ben throws pick returned for TD 31-14 with 0:16 left in 4th.
AFC home field goes to Titans
Uh oh, the Titans stomped on a Terrible Towel. Whenever they meet again--whether it's in the AFC Championship or not--there will be hell to pay. That thing is as sacred in Pittsburgh as the star at Texas stadium. Bad, bad move. You can bet Steelers fans will never forget this.
And somewhere in that press box in the sky, Myron Cope's saying that of they meet again, he hopes that because they desecrated a sacred symbol, he hopes that someone on the Steelers pays a bounty on the jerk who did that.
And it's snowing in Foxborough...
