Simmons Talks With Collinsworth, Throws Another Jab At Reilly
Thursday, December 18, 2008
Bill Simmons has been bringing the podcasts fast and furious now that his latest rift with his employer seems to have died down. He recently had Cris Collinsworth on the program, and when talking about the Cowboys the Sports Guy had this to say about the situation.
"As we've found out time and time again in sports or in any other community, if you bring in another guy and pay him more then the best guy you have, there's gonna be trouble. Guy's not gonna handle that well."- Bill Simmons
He of course was talking about T.O. and Roy Williams, right? Well, I guess that's possible, but it certainly sounded like a shot to me. Ah, the holidays are always happy over at the "Leader".

Yeah, you may be reading a little too much into this line. I took it as a comment about the Cowboys paying too much for Roy Williams and possibly upsetting TO.
I had to mute my TV when Reilly's smug face came on SC tonight. The biggest douche on tWWL, and that's saying something.
Used to not like Simmons, but I really enjoy his podcasts. Reilly, on the other hand, is a grade-A douchenozzle.
Seemed like an obvious reference to his own situation. Not sure how the other commenters didn't hear it.
pretty obvious allegory to his situation. keep fighting the good fight bill!
I don't want to get too cranky and I know that this site is about picking apart media, but really, who gives a flying fuck about either one of these douchebags. Needs more Pammys. (sorry out drinking all night)
Bill Simmons has a voice made for writing.
this chowd acting like a whiny little bitch and using the blogs to promote his little digs is getting old.
it's worse when the blogs run with it.
if you have that much of a problem with espn, be a fucking man about it

I think commenting on my co-workers' salaries is perfectly appropriate.
Sincerely,

Since Simmons' focus tends to be on teams from that part of the country stretching from Northern Rhode Island to Southeastern New Hampshire, it's no big surprise ESPN would go out and hire someone to focus on the other 47 1/2 states.
I'm not sure about that being a shot at Reilly, AA. I mean, it's not like his analogy isn't true in Dallas.
