Mark Jackson Injects Some Beyonce Into Game Five
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
I'm not really a Mark Jackson fan, but this postseason he's been pretty good. He's usually in charge with the replay heading to the break and this time he decided to throw in a little Beyonce....
You might just have a chance with me yet Mr. Jackson. There's nothing wrong with that sort of talk as long as we're above 4 minutes left in the game. You just barely got that one in.

AA, i know this is off topic, but can you post another ominous error by the WWL from this morning's sportscenter(s). In the stats after the additional Pistons-Celtics coverage the last line showed that the Celtics were 29-0 when leading a series 3-2. If I am not mistaken didnt they lose 2 game 6 games this playoff season to both the Hawks and Cavaliers respectively?
Anon...
I believe that refers to playoff series they they have led 3-2, not individual games.
Sorry, that should have been lead...my mistake
Jackson only looks better after Van Gundy goes off on oddball tangents that make no sense.
Rajon Rondo is the worst PG in basketball. He can't shoot, he misses layups, throws weak lob passes, and wants no part of the action at crucial points in the game. This guy does not deserve a ring. If it wasn't for the Big 2 (Ray Allen is a piece of crap) he would have led the Celtics to about 30 wins. He is AWFUL.
On my couch, fist in the air.
hey AA, did you see Ovechkin at intermission of the hockey game last night, absolutely classic. definately worth posting if you can find the video.
Joe D,
Despite his shooting (which comes second for a PG), Rondo had 13 assists, 6 rebs and 4 steals.
Needless to say I think you're criticism of him is a tad bit harsh.
Plus he's in his second year, not an experienced vet, so he deserves some slack. He's still learing how to play the position at a championship level. Remember all the criticisms of Tony Parker early on?
Also, the Beyonce line was funny, and his signature "c'mon ---- , you're better than that" gets a chuckle out of me every time.
Jackson is entertaining, especially when he rags on Van Gundy and Breen
I'm with J Rose about Rondo. Calling Rondo 'the worst PG in basketball' is like the anonymous poster in the Buck Showalter thread placing Joe D at 'the bottom of the AA commenter hierarchy.' Whatever that is.
I am not sure to call Jeff van Gundy the worst color analyst ever or the best color analyst ever. It is very Andy Kaufman on Fridays sort of deal. The way he behavs on ESPN compared to his first TV gig on TNT is like night and day. Maybe he's become basketball's answer to Kruk for The WWL with his oddball stances on things? Him and Breen always seem to be at odds. I don't think Breen gets him like Marv or even Mark Jackson does. Breen actually gets flustered when JVG is all in his grill about some lame thing.
Mark Jackson has to be the worst announcer in the game. All he does is spew cliche after cliche and he is difficult to listen to. The ESPN Radio team of Tirico and Hubie Brown is far superior to the TV team. Alas, anyone who wants to listen to the radio broadcast can not watch the game because of the 5 second delay. What really frustrates me is when Jackson starts acting like a buffoon, I mute my television, but the closed captioning comes on automatically so I have to read about the BS that comes out of his mouth. I have no idea how Jackson is thought so highly of by ESPN. Jeff Van Gundy was solid when he first started this gig but he has become such a buffoon. And I am not as high on Breen as I once was. Marv Albert is still a better play-by-play man than him.
What is that junk Breen is trying to grow on his face?
Mama. there goes that man!
