The Bulls Win The NBA Draft Lottery

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Figured I'd post the video of the whole "reveal" of the picks during the Draft Lottery. Everything was holding to form when the Bulls made the jump into the top three and then ultimately stole the first pick away from Miami.

If you're the Bulls I think you have to take Derrick Rose, but when you have Hinrich on the roster that makes it tough. Here's what I'm thinking as far as a mock goes. Feel free to throw your own in the comments.

1. Bulls- Derrick Rose, PG (Memphis)
2. Heat- Michael Beasley, F (Kansas State)
3. Wolves- Brook Lopez, C (Stanford)
4. Sonics- Kevin Love, PF/C (UCLA)
5. Grizzlies- Eric Gordon, SG (Indiana)
6. Knicks- OJ Mayo, PG/SG (USC)
7. Clippers- Jerryd Bayless, PG/SG (Arizona)
8. Bucks- Danilo Gallinari, SF (Italy)
9. Bobcats- DeAndre Jordan, C (Texas A&M)
10. Nets- Donte Greene, SF/PF (Syracuse)
11. Pacers- D.J. Augustin, PG (Texas)
12. Kings- Russell Westbrook, PG/SG (UCLA)
13. Blazers- Joe Alexander, SF/PF (West Virginia)
14. Warriors- Anthony Randolph, SF/PF (LSU)

The Supes have drafted I believe 3 centers the last 5 seasons.....why should they do it again?

And I've got Brook Lopez as a bust...a BIG TIME bust. I see him slipping out of the top 10 eventually.

Why does every state show their lottery on TV but the NBA can't show their ping pong balls? FIXED!!

@ss:

I don't know what was worse: Van Gundy liking Joe Morgan's baseball analysis or Mark Jackson being decked out in Dodgers gear at the Lester no-no.

I feel so sorry for Breen.....

He needs to pair up with Doris Burke or something.

Isn't the knock on the Bulls no inside presence? Can they pass on Beasley?

Besides, since this whole thing is rigged, don't you think Commissar Stern wants to see Rose next to Wade so Wade can easy up a little on the handle and keep his body intact for more than 20 games next year?

It's gotta be Beasley... last time Bulls drafted a local product... Eddy Curry

Well the other thing to consider is that Rose is from Chicago. I keep going back and forth here.

Doesn't Mike D'Antoni wish he had gone to Chicago now?

I notice you have OJ Mayo going to the Knicks... that's going to be interesting.

From what I've heard the drawing of ping-pong balls is actually a drawing of four-digit codes that get matched up with teams. It would be boring and, unless the list of teams' codes is made public too, wouldn't solve anything as far as suspicion is concerned. Remember the Ewing Lottery, where Stern was actually shown picking out a placard with a team logo on it and people still think it was fixed?

1. Bulls - Beasley
2. Heat - Rose
3. T-Wolves - Gordon
4. Sonics - Augustin
5. Grizzlies - Mayo

At least that's how I'd do it. But I don't know much about the NBA.

Uh, have you seen Kirk Hinrich play?

I just don't see Love complementing Durant and Green very well. The Sonics would be better off going with an explosive scorer/playmaker like bayless, gordon or mayo.

Also, AA, did you catch Marc Jackson making fun of JVG's infamous leg-grabbing? It was priceless.

Memo to D-Wade: Two-handed handshakes suck.

The Bulls need an inside presence more than anything else. Beasley is the best option available.

No commentary on the train wreck Doris Burke? No comment on her introducing the Bulls rep by the wrong name?

Doris's interview with Jay-Z where she said that maybe he'll only have 98 problems after tonight was priceless.

The Sonics already have basically the same player as Love now with Collison, so I think they will go another direction.

The Bulls have never had a top notch pint guard. Don't give me this crap about Hinrich, he is badly outplayed night after night. Draft Rose, start him from game one.
