An Own Goal To End All Own Goals
Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Schadenfreude is a German word which is defined as "the largely unanticipated delight in the suffering of another which is cognized as trivial and/or appropriate". I'm sure you knew that all ready but the fact that the word itself is German and this clip is of a German goalie from the Bundesliga makes it even more hilarious. Watch closely...
The even more crazy part is that goal could result in further humiliation in the form of relegation for Arminia Bielefeld. The team was up 2-1 and with a win they would have been safe. Unfortunately for them Rowen Fernández' face got in the way. Ouch.

Nice playing the Schadenfreude bent on this one just like Sports Center does in every clip! At least you called it Schadenfreude and weren't just like "sucks to be that guy! sucks to be that guy! neener neener" like SC always does.
I thought it was an interesting bounce though, thanks for sharing. And yes, that nose punch did cost Arminia millions upon millions of dollars! Definitely an ouch.
