The Nationals Have An Interesting Opponent On May 22nd

Sunday, May 04, 2008

Hilarious find by reader EJ this evening. I'm not sure what this is doing there, but apparently the Nationals take on Indiana Jones on May 22nd (click for larger)...

I know the new Indy movie comes out that day, and my first thought was that it was a promotion, but it's not a link to anything. It's just a random picture of Indiana Jones. Is Harrison Ford throwing out the first pitch or something? If so, I'm so going to that game.

It's on every MLB.com website schedule, whether a game is being played or not. Makes as much sense as that Adam Sandler/Baron Davis commercial on earlier.

Well the background color suggests that it's an already completed game. Any idea who won?

And I thought it was weird that Comcast was trying to tell me that Tampa Bay was playing Cincinnati the last two days, on NESN.

Diamondbacks... Why's it always gotta be the Diamondbacks?!

I don't think Indiana Jones vs. any team is a fair match-up. It's a guaranteed loss, especially for the Nats.

They did this for the Red Sox and actually change a game from "home" to "away" to make the image easier to see:

Did MLB learn nothing from the Spiderman-logo-on-the-bases fiasco in, I think, 2004?
